Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

It is really strange...Agent Carter won't be out until the start of next year, Luke Cage not for more than one year, and yet we currently get tease after tease. Ao S is supposed to be back this month (and really, why so late? All the other shows start earlier) and the only thing they have shown so far are a little bit of casting news and compilation videos with scenes from the last season. Why so much secrecy?
what do you want the whole season to be spoiled lol.
“Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” returns for an action-packed third season, with Director Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) and Agent Daisy Johnson (Chloe Bennet) leading the charge as S.H.I.E.L.D. searches the world for more powered people in the aftermath of their epic battle with Jiaying and her army of Inhumans. However, Coulson and the team soon find out that they are not the only group looking for these new Inhumans.
Many months after their war with a rogue group of Inhumans, the team is still reeling. Coulson is again trying to put the pieces of his once revered organization back together while also dealing with the loss of his hand. His confidante and second in command, Agent Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen), has yet to return from an impromptu vacation with ex-husband Andrew (Blair Underwood); deadly superspy Agent Bobbi Morse (Adrianne Palicki) is recovering from her traumatic torture at the hands of Grant Ward (Brett Dalton); Fitz (Iain De Caestecker) is obsessed with discovering the truth behind the mysterious disappearance of Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge); and all are on high-alert for the next move from Ward and Hydra.
Ever since the existence of Super Heroes and aliens became public knowledge after the Battle of New York, the world has been trying to come to grips with this new reality. Coulson assembled a small, highly select group of Agents from the worldwide law-enforcement organization known as S.H.I.E.L.D. (Strategic Homeland Intervention Enforcement and Logistics Division). S.H.I.E.L.D.’s mission: to protect those who cannot protect themselves from threats they cannot conceive.
But bigger threats loom ahead, setting the stakes even higher for the Agents, including the spread of Terrigen, an alien substance that unlocks superhuman abilities in select individuals; the emergence of new Inhumans who cannot yet control nor understand their powers; the rise of a new government organization that will go toe-to-toe with S.H.I.E.L.D.; the unknown properties of the massive alien Kree monolith, which has taken one of their own; and the constant threat of a rebuilt Hydra terrorist organization under S.H.I.E.L.D. traitor Grant Ward, who is making it his personal mission to take down Coulson and S.H.I.E.L.D.
New faces, both friend and foe, will join the series, including the no-nonsense, highly-skilled and somewhat mysterious leader (Constance Zimmer) of the ATCU (Advanced Threat Containment Unit), her intimidating partner, Banks (Andrew Howard), Lash (Matthew Willig), a monstrous Inhuman whose loyalties remain ambiguous, and new Inhuman Joey (Juan Pablo Raba), who is struggling to harness his newfound abilities, among other surprising characters.
Coulson, with the help of Daisy and Mack (Henry Simmons), will work to slowly assemble a team that is stronger than ever before, combining the highly skilled Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. with powered individuals in the hopes of protecting the innocent in a world where the balance of power is ever-shifting, and new dangers are constantly emerging."
everything else is just cause and effect.
Coulson took away Ward's WANTS and NEEDS, therefore Ward focuses on the total annihilation of team Coulson. Revenge is always linear because he won't fully succeed by default that good guys need to win or else there would be no more story. On the other hand, how will the hidden true fractions of Hydra respond? I doubt anything unless Zemo is effected by the show. lets be real chances for that are .1%. Remember Ward's Hydra isn't the same as true Hydra, which means far less Hydra.
A monolith ate Simmons and now she ended up SOMEWHERE - "It’s so much bigger than I thought it would be. What it is, I thought about it and was like, ‘How would they do that? How would they film that?’ I just dismissed everything in the realm of this idea,” Henstridge explains. “It’s very cool. It’s very cool." "I didn’t guess it,” Bennet says. “I was like, oh, OK, we’re going there. That’s happening now. It will be good.” There is a destination she's at, therefore Fitz refuses to stop looking at the push-back of those around him. He may not know she is SOMEWHERE else though the conclusion currently doesn't matter in his mind as long as he succeeds in bringing her back. It also won't be long to see where shes at - “We’re now on episode 2, but we will find out,” she answers carefully. “It’s not something that will be strung out too long. I think the repercussions of it will be a huge part of this season, and that will be a bit more of a slow burn, as will the Inhumans, Daisy and Mack are heading up that team.”
Coulson is obviously dealing being armless - “It’s such a pain in my a**, this no-hand thing,” Gregg says wryly. “It’s like a lot of things about Phil Coulson; the reality informs the thing. It’s really hard to figure out how to use this prosthetic, and that’s what Phil Coulson’s going through. It’s very difficult to figure out how to take somebody out, and to do that, I’m hoping it evolves at some point.” Meanwhile, the effect of being by Daisy's side during both season 1 and 2 made him bond with her even more, therefore they are on equal terms with less butting heads about things they do not understand - “They’re definitely more on a coworker level this year,” she explains of their changing dynamic. “It’s much more of a collaborative effort, and I think he’s really trusted the work that he’s put into raising this protege. They’re working side-by-side, and you’ll see more of Coulson in the field this year and less of the suited version.”
May is distraught her husband came back to SHIELD, working with Secret Warriors. Her loyalty to SHIELD is dropping down as SHIELD's actions become more ambiguous.
Lincoln conflicts over SHIELD and Inhumans. Working under Skye's team also affiliates him with SHIELD and what he thinks about Inhumans is different from how Skye wants to handle them.
Mac is with Skye.
Lash is being kept a secret. Look at my http://moviepilot.com/posts/2015/07/18/agents-of-s-h-i-e-l-d-season-3-s-expansion-upon-inhumans-3389805
for information about him.
them there is Constance. this marks for the first time an organization outside of SHIELD/hydra responds to the inhuman epcidmenic. she is "a potent … I wouldn’t say doppelganger, but she’s definitely got a lot in common with Coulson,” he says. “She represents a character who’s not someone he comes across every day, who has more in common with him than most other people do.”
really season 3 sounds simple on paper. skye was forced to crash terrigen crystals into the ocean. they turned into fish oil pills. people take them. they transform. therefore someone needs to help them subdue them or kill them. the questions are who why what where when how. then we have ward trying to get back at team coulson by 100 fold. showing all the new inhumans teams where simmons is and ward's methods right now would just spoil what im about to watch in a few weeks. see season 3 is more straight forward yet compact because people just went through hell, so now they have to repostion themselves.
o wait i forget bobby and hunter. yea they are coping from ward's attack. whats the effect from nearly dying by him? well bobby said she wanted to leave she coudlnt do this anymore
btw we know nothing virtually about Luke Cage apart from the new presented actors and roles lol. theres not enough information to assess anything. sure this guy is playing that guy but what does it really mean for the story, a story i know nothing about. IDDDDDDDDDDDDDK. who cares about pictures unless they show something substantial. theres already pictures of season 3 out anyway.
then agent cater season 2. the synopsis is out but nothing else except the direction they want to take.

They just revealed who the new director of the SSR is.
A trailer for Ao S would be nice, with one or two glimpses on what is about to come.
I knew that Hawkeye wasn't to be trusted:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kTUbODnIuJk
Looks like Chris Evans is confirmed as one of the actors who didn't sign on an extension for his contract past Infinity War, although he's willing to extend his contract
. I'm guessing he'll be out of action by the end, whether it's deseruming or retirement, but he won't die (permanently).
Yes!!!!! It's a little bit strange that he now suddenly changes his tune after he kept talking about directing beforehand, but of all the actors I thought that he would be the most difficult to keep around...and the one I want the most in the MCU! (Along with Black Widow, naturally). It is great to know that he is no longer set on just fulfilling his contract.
Speaking of which, his directorial debut Before We Go
premieres in theaters today.
Honestly, it looks really cliche to me.
They wouldn't fight.
Peter: HOLY CRAP, YOU'RE CAPTAIN AMERICA!
Steve: I get that a lot.
Peter: I'm Star-Lord! I'm with the Guardians of the Galaxy.
Steve: I have no idea what any of that means. But you seem like a good person. Wanna come fight evil?
Peter: OH MY GOD YES I DO!
-High five-
My various fanfics."What I really want to see in Civil War is Steve telling off Thanos. I can see it, Thanos standing there, almighty and Steve being all "But we will never stop fighting you!" wait why would Thanos be in Civil War? and yes that fits Steve's characterization because he doesn't back from the total annihilation of freedom. thanos is the biggest insult to sanctity of life. no more life = no more freedom. simple. therefore “No. It’s not the end of the world. Not until the Avengers say so" - Captain America.
However for your line he needs an action to go along with it so it's just not verbal. something that gets the coward going FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK YEAAAAAAAAAAAAA.
MAKE IT HAPPEN since a similar one already was written in the comics that i posted above... hnnnnnnnnnnnm purpose make the line come out with a bigger punch. rememeber Cap can be pretty demanding sometimes

Unless it was a joke from Chris Pratt, I don't think so. We know literally nothing about the movie (I doubt there's even a script) other than that Thanos is in it.
