Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Maybe Danny will pop up in Luke Cage, and at the end they'll go off together so she can be in Iron Fist
Anyway, yes, I was hoping she'd show up. Think she'll have the bionic arm?
Oh God! Natural light!YES THANK YOU.
Why, yes, Misty Knight is one of my favorite Marvel characters. She's awesome.
Also, yes, I do hope they introduce Danny Rand in Luke Cage, too, even if just as a cameo. And I hope that Jessica Jones guest-stars in Daredevil Season 2 (hey, lawyers need to employ private investigators every once in a while). More interconnectiveness! MORE I SAY.
Also give her a bionic arm. Director Coulson is already getting one.

Well, they included it in Season 2 of Agents of SHIELD. It is not like the TV stuff are actually part of the MCU "phases". I mean, I suppose the series that air next year are Phase 3? But the 3 netflix series are part of the same "bundle", so it would be weird if Daredevil and Jessica Jones were "Phase 2" while the other two were "Phase 3". In reality, none of them are neither.

Perhaps, but I know of them as "the site that broke the news that Joaquin Phoenix is in talks to play Doctor Strange", which, as far as I know, hasn't been confirmed by Marvel or Phoenix as ever happening (the latter never said anything about it save from that he doesn't do "blockbuster roles").

But there's a difference betwen "So-and-So is in talks" and "So-and-So has been cast." One is rumor. The other is easily verifiable by asking Marvel. And Marvel, so far, hasn't denied it yet. (There's also a difference between Joaquin Phoenix - a super well known actor - and Simone Missick, whose largest role as been on Ray Donovan. Sites may try to make up rumors about big celebrities, but rarely if ever do so for smaller actors.)

Are you referring to this interview with Phoenix?
He doesn't confirm that he got approached for Dr. Strange but he doesn't deny it either.

An interesting piece on Perlmutter from Vanity Fair
