Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

I guess we have just wait and see. Currently Marvel is planning the defenders Verse on Netflix and a third show on ABC. I think their plate is pretty full. Plus, there was also a Cloak and Dagger show rumoured. And a Ms Marvel show. (honestly, what isn't rumoured?).
In the movie verse, you can bet that phase four will consist of Got G 3, A second Spider-man movie, A second Ant-man or a Wasp movie, and a sequel to whatever else of the new franchises resonates with the audience.
Cloak and Dagger was never a rumor that claimed Marvel Studios was interested in the title. It was just fan hope after hearing a new series being developed on ABC and the fact Agent Cater season 2 is using Darkforce though no one said anything when it appeared in Agents of SHIELD. Meanwhile, who the heck said anything about Ms Marvel television program o_O. Sounds like a crazy rumor on moviepilot

So I started looking at GOG cartoon. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O1iRxvAkRI0
does anyone think it should be canon?
I don't care one way or the other about vampires in the MCU, but here's an idea of how they could bring them in and avoid the whole "SHIELD should have known about them before now" issue: bring them in after the Doctor Strange movie. That's the one that's going to really introduce the supernatural, yes? So, vampires (and other things) have had some kind of magic hiding them (like a cloaking spell, or something) all this time. Then, some kind of magic-based catastrophe happens in the Strange movie, causing that magic to fail. Boom. Vampires. With ready explanations for where they came from (they were there all along), and why nobody noticed (the now defunct cloaking magic).
That was pretty thoroughly debunked. The only reason people even thought it was gonna happen is because John Ridley is doing a show for Marvel and his most recent show had a Muslim woman as one of the major characters. That was seriously the justification behind the rumor. I guess once you write one Muslim girl that's all you can ever write again.
Actually it was. Jeph Loeb announced it as in development
but nothing more was ever heard from it.

oh he reveled that. well its long past due. http://comicsalliance.com/alias-hulk-cloak-dagger-abc/
everything changed in 4 years. none of that is happening except JJ, which moved to netflix. it says hulk tv show. yea they not giving rufflo his own show
runaways if drew comes back to it has a higher chance because at least he did something and knows what to do from there discounting studio interference and worldbuilding contribution to the MCU.
meanwhile vampries i am going to keep on saying it. no vampire virus, otherwise stick with blade 4. origin = magic. magic = dr strange. why the general public hasn't been aware of them? insert reason here. or make a whole new universe not canon to the MCU where the midnight sons belong along with ghost ghouls goblins trolls zombies succubus and everything else. basically Supernatural except real creatures and better effects. unlike the MCU they aren't some hybrid of an ancient alien.

Lash is finally casted for AOS. In the picture this guy Matt Willig looks like Lash kinda. Anyway season 3 marks the first official major Inhuman used from Marvel comics. i am curious to see where all our Inhumans will be in 4 years

How would Ms. Marvel even work without Captain Marvel? Or at least the establishment of superheroes as a celebrated group in the general public consciousness for a while at this point? I know Avengers concluded with the public praising the team and other movies had inklings of Iron Man and Cap as respected public figures but it's for the most part an implied background detail. It'll probably take Civil War to fully establish heroes as a part of the universe that civilians around the globe acknowledge.
Even if they don't make her directly inspired by Carol, a lot of the premise of Ms. Marvel is on the idea of her as someone inspired by the previous generation of heroes, so to speak.

Also for all the talk about how it'd be too soon for an Ultimate Spider-Man movie, Ms. Marvel would have the same problem X 1000. She's been around for one year and has maybe two or three published story arcs, and like 3 villains.
It's way too soon for a running TV show.

They can work Captain Marvel into the origin story if need be, plus keep in mind that her film isn't slated to appear until after the first half of the third Avengers if I'm right. So at that point we've had the build up on Iron Man in three films, the Avangers as a team in three films, Captain America in three films, everyone who turns up in Civil War, the Spidy film and all the other films that are coming before Captain Marvel.
Edit: Wait I'm confused, are we talking about Ms Marvel in the sense of the Captain Marvel film that is already planned, or in the sense of a random TV show idea that a fan made up?

“And the Bunny nails it!” ~ Gabrael “If the UN can get through a day without everyone strangling everyone else so can we.” ~ CyranSeeing as they explicitly don't want people to have to have seen TV shows to understand the films I'm gonna say no. I mean they could maybe cameo the character or name drop her once or twice, but that would be it.
“And the Bunny nails it!” ~ Gabrael “If the UN can get through a day without everyone strangling everyone else so can we.” ~ CyranMy idea was to introduce Kamala Khan as a supporting character in Captain Marvel. Then in The Stinger you could show her undergoing Terigenesis and being found by one of the Inhumans. I think she could work pretty well as the Naïve Newcomer in that movie.
Actually it was. Jeph Loeb announced it as in development

Hmm. It's interesting that two of the shows mentioned now appear to be getting made (AKA Jessica Jones is now just Jessica Jones, while Mockingbird is now Marvel's Most Wanted).

Since the animated verse is separated from the MCU they have to be less careful there. Plus, Got G is a successful MOVIE, Ms Marvel is a successful COMIC. There is a difference.
My point with mentioning all the shows was that I am sure that Marvel is throwing a lot of ideas around. Until they announce something specific, it is not more than that. Just ideas.
Well, in the comics at least, Starlords' father (who was not Warlock, I might add,) was a ruler from another planet who crash-landed on Earth and got jiggy with a human woman, AKA Starlords' mother. Of course, they've already changed up the rest of Starlords' origin almost completely for the movies, so there's no telling if this will still be the same either.
