Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Daredevil isn't a romp or anything but I do feel it's significantly lighter than it's given credit for.
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.I didn't like the first three episodes of Daredevil that much, but I pushed on and it got better... Then the ending went down a notch. Well, maybe only a little. I still don't understand why setting someone on fire didn't make Matt grieve or whatever, nor why he revealed whom he was to that cop instead of running away.
I think the darkest moment in the series is when that one guy impales his own head on a spike in fear of Wilson Fisk.
Second episode was also my favorite.
I don't think Matt actually knows he killed Nobu. He continues on like he's never killed anyone after that, which is weird. I can excuse it because he was so beaten to hell afterwards that I would not be surprised if his memory of that night is spotty at best.
With the increased involvement of The Hand in season 2, I'm hoping this will be addressed.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Matt: Why are you so mad at me?!
Ninjas: YOU SET ONE OF OUR MEMBERS ON FIRE!
Matt: Wait, I did what?!
My various fanfics. But it was wondrous. I forgave Ollie for the entirety of Season 3 for the Boxing glove arrow alone.
It's the greatest weapon in Green Arrow's arsenal.
As for Daredevil and darkness, when Wilson Fisk uses a car door (still attached to said car mind you) to turn a man's head to pulp, it's fair to say a series is pretty dark.
I'd call the Nobu thing self defence, combined with Matt perhaps having too much on his mind (getting the shit kicked out of him; then fighting with Foggy) to actually put two and two together. Plus, he was pretty shocked at fighting a Ninja in the first place, so he might not be trying to think about it too much.
One Strip! One Strip! They actually used a boxing glove arrow in Arrow? Haha. I got in an arguement with my brother because he didn't like the Marvel films as much as The Dark Knight or Arrow because they were "less realistic." I tried to point out "Green Arrow is a guy that dresses up like Robin Hood and shoots people with boxing glove arrows!" but he wasn't having it.
After this, I stopped calling him Stupid Evil Oliver Queen, and called him Stupid Evil Awesome Oliver Queen.
I consider every word to be accurate.
You know, I kinda do want The Hand to directly call Matt out on killing Nobu....
But now I realize we Never Found the Body.
One Strip! One Strip!Be wary.
Season 3 is really dumb. Outside of that scene, the only good thing about it is the stuff with The Flash.
Zombie Ninjas eh?
........

One Strip! One Strip!

It's clearly a reference to "AKA Jessica Jones," Jessica's debut comic series.
Cough cough cough.
