Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Re: Farscape, Zhaan lasted two whole seasons, but then Virginia Hey had to leave because the makeup was just too uncomfortable (and I believe she was allergic to some of it). On the other hand, Chiana last through the whole series, but her body was completely white, so maybe there's a difference?

The only time I've ever heard the name "Purple Man" be scary was when it's the murderer from Five Night at Freddy's.
◊ And even then it's more because it's a "what the heck is that thing".

Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies. In Defiance, the Castithans use white body paint (and this season introduced the Omec, who are purple with gold highlights), and they're by far the most common alien race seen. I guess it does depend on the color, though. If a little bit of white paint fades off a Caucasian actor, it's no big deal. You'll notice something wrong with green much more quickly.
Writing a post-post apocalypse LitRPG on RR. Also fanfic stuff.
Yeah—lightening or darkening natural tones is common. See also, Cardassians, Klingons, etc.
Eh, sort of. It was more an attempt at a multimedia franchise than the blatant cash grab it appeared to be. The MMO is mostly dead by now, but the show is still going strong. I doubt it has a huge budget (it's still on Syfy), but it's not shoestring.

Heh, I love that they all have "AKA" in the title. Also, I'm suprised they're actually using the name "Power Man," even if it's just in the episode title.
I've got fanfics for Frozen, Spectacular Spider-Man, Crash Bandicoot, and Spyro the Dragon.Swanpride except that is footage of Frank Grillo on set of Captain America: Civil dressed up in a costume. You can deny it all you want but the truth is what you just laid your eyes upon is indeed Crossbones. note: I didn't say it came from D23 though the title does. I just said look it's Crossbones in what is obviously the most cinematic clip in contrast to the most obivous set footage

The title a Sandwich Saved Me sounds some revelent to the source material. Jess once reveled herself to the NYPD so a group of kids wouldnt be sent to jail. Luke was so impressed by her selfless, principled stand he brought her sandwichs. On this night they became besties

Why would they do that? It's clearly a reference to "AKA Jessica Jones," Jessica's debut comic series.
EDIT: Whoops, I'm getting the names all mixed up.

What? No. AKA Jessica Jones was the Netflix series original title, before they decided to change. Hr debut comic was called Alias.

When we discussed this in the Marvel Netflix thread, some of us agreed on it being a budget issue as well.
