Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

I mostly want to see the Beyonder at one point. He would be a delightful villain/antagonist who could survive multiple movies while still making it believable that he wouldn't destroy the earth. I fear, though, that he might be tied up in the F4 licence. (I still secretly hope that he is Peter Quill's father...I think that would be way more interesting in the long run than Warlock.)
x7 As per your previous joking suggestion, Matt Smith would of been a good MCU Reed Richards. I have always viewed Fantastic Four as basically Doctor Who in super hero form. Only difference is that the team don't travel through time (often) and tend to go through different dimensions and worlds instead.
But since Marvel Studios have yet to acquire the team, like somebody said before me he will most likely be a villain. My money is on Kang the Conqueror . . . wait, he's owned by Fox for some reason.
DAMMIT FOX! YOU CAN'T HORDE ALL THESE CHARACTERS AND NOT USE THEM!

Evangeline Lilly has been fitted for a Wasp suit.
..but then she got pregnant.
Good time to get pregnant, then. It won't adversely affect the Wasp's ability to appear.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub."What about Black Panther? Or Spider-Man?"
"Hm?"
"Don't they run the same risk?"
"I don't understand the question."
It's possible that she'd risk bigness overlooked due to being the last addition. They may already be at max capability as is.
That's assuming that neither of the other characters will be slightly overlooked, it's possible that they're okay with that though.
“And the Bunny nails it!” ~ Gabrael “If the UN can get through a day without everyone strangling everyone else so can we.” ~ CyranI think the thing is Black Panther and Spidey are definitely getting their own movie at some point so it doesn't matter if they're overlooked because Marvel can fix that later. Wasp does not have that same security because she has girl parts because they're already doing Captain Marvel what more do you want from them because she's not getting her own movie anytime soon for reasons we will never know.

Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.Speaking of: Hayley Atwell would like to BE the Doctor in Doctor Who.
I'm throwing my money at the screen but it's not doing anything WHY ISN'T IT DOING ANYTHING TAKE ALL MY MONEY

Forever liveblogging the Avengers

Ever since learning of him through Nick Spencer's Ant Man, I've been thinking Machinesmith would work well in the MCU, and Matt Smith was someone who came to mind for playing him.
We already have Zola uploading himself into the internet, and Machinesmith in the comics looks a lot like MCU!Ultron.
So, I had this idea of introducing Samuel Saxon as this amusing, punch clock villain HYDRA tech guy and have him either get sick or be diagnosed as having a terminal illness. This prompts him to use himself as a guinea pig and upload his mind into a robotic body (built from one of the Ultron drones). Later on, he'd find out either that his doctor was lying to him or deliberately made him ill on the orders of HYDRA- because they wanted to see if the brain uploading could be made to work.
Either Tony or Scott would comment something like, "That's what happens when you are on a HYDRA medical plan."
At that point, he'd go nuts and turn against his employers (similarities to DCAU!Metallo are deliberate).
