Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

"Guy love, that's all it is" Sam insisted as they shared a post-brobang cigarette.

Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectProbably not, considering the reason Steve/Tony was even popular in the first place was mostly carryover from the gobs of Ho Yay in the comics. IMO their interactions in the the first Avengers movie was less Foe Yay and more genuine resentment that eventually turned into camaraderie, but that offhand line in AOU didn't feel quite earned yet.
I'm actually a little worried about Civil War because of that. The comics had the sense of two close friends torn apart by the differences in their beliefs, but if they try to keep that theme in the movie it won't be as effective because MCU Steve and Tony just don't have a convincingly strong or developed enough bond for it to work.

Like all things, it's probably getting modified.
They do have a conflict, at least.

Alas.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersHey, does anyone notice how Tom Holland was pretty vague on his take on Spider-Man?
I've been really strongly advised that I'm not allowed to answer anything on that note. I'm really sorry. Trust me, I'd love to tell you. But I have one person staring at me right now going "No!"
Hmmmmmmm....

I mean, Chris and Hayley like to casually make out for her dubsmash videos, so I wouldn't be surprised.
