Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Aside from acting choice, I am interested in what story and villain will be utilized for this movie.
Clearly Kree is going to be involved in the movie as a part of the character origins, but I wonder what the rest of the story will be like and what villains the hero will have to face.
Ronan is obviously out due to him being dead. And I can't offhand think of any other Kree that can serve as the main physical foe she will face. Maybe they can introduce Nitro or Moonstone to serve as her main antagonist for her to fight in the movie, mostly as other test subjects the Kree experimented on who ended up serving the Kree in the take over of Earth or something like that.
They don't. She's Shi'ar, which means Fox gets her.
They might be able to make a case to use her provided they don't identify her as Shi'ar, similar to how they were able to use Pietro and Wanda by not making them mutants.

Funny enough that was my suggestion to the Marvel Studios Fantastic Four movie which just subverts all the tropes found in super hero movies (specifically Marvel) where instead of them banning together to fight the main villain (who is Annihilus after pulling a Hijack by Ganon on Dr. Doom), they opt for a third alternative by rerouting the portal to the Negative Zone to suck in back the invading forces that seeks to conquer Earth with an invention that Reed came up with.
But... what's the point of a superhero movie if you don't have a spectacular end fight?
The big fancy endfights are a big source of the sentiment that MCU movies suffer It's the Same, So It Sucks. They could afford to either trim it short or make it a more personal match like Cap vs. the Winter Soldier or Ant-Man vs. Yellowjacket.
Every action movie has a climactic final battle.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Or just make the fights more creative.
GOTG's had spaceship combat and ended with a struggle against the Power Gem itself and trying to control its power, while Ant-Man's had all the crazy shrinking plus the army of bullet ants, for example. And Thor 2 had the dimension-hopping; uninspired though the fight was you have to give it some points for that.

You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Thor 2's climax also accomplished something we're not likely to see very often: it separated Thor from Mjolnir.
In a better movie, this would have been awesome. As it was, it was still hilarious.
