Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

I thought it was referring to the fact that he hit Antony, the ant that Scott was riding on. And he was aiming for Scott.
But then, I also think he was firing blindly and didn't have a clue where Scott was.
What makes me scratch my head is how Yellowjacket (Cross?) managed to pull out the suit, enlarge it, and put it on within the time it took for Scott to get back in the helicopter.
Its not like the Iron Man suit, or is it? It must be with how quickly he pulled it on.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!He was very motivated obviously.
Combined with being bug-fuck crazy at that point.
You'd be surprised what you are capable of when you want someone dead badly enough.
One Strip! One Strip!Yeah, remember in the cell when the ants gave Scott 10 seconds to put the suit on?
No fucking way. Even I noticed that.

Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectYou know, I respect Hugo Weaving as an actor, but thinking about his thoughts on not returning to the MCU, or the Transformers films...
It's strange when Michael Bay
of all people makes a good point (quote from his page on TF Wiki Dot Net):
Do they ask for people to care?
I'm really asking, have any of said actors asked for people to care or get upset in their behalf? They don't want to take the job, that's their choice. Have they even complained? Explaining that you don't want to come back is not complaining.
Also that's a strait up Appeal to Worse Problems there.

“And the Bunny nails it!” ~ Gabrael “If the UN can get through a day without everyone strangling everyone else so can we.” ~ Cyranactors need to eat too, and that means sometimes taking roles they may not find very interesting or artistically fulfilling. are they not allowed to dislike certain roles they may have played in films even if they are not bad off financially? it doesn't have anything to do with how well-off they are and isn't necessarily even complaining.
the above is kind of irrelevant though because i'm not sure exactly what weaving said. has he actually complained or has he just said he doesn't want to return?

He didn't complain, I think, he just said that he didn't want to return to play the Red Skull again. Actually, wait, here's the full quote:
"I [signed a multi-picture deal] for Captain America. I think the tendency, with those films, would be to probably not bring a villain back. They might for The Avengers, but I didn’t think I’d be in Captain America 2 or 3. I don’t think Red Skull will be there. And it’s not something I would want to do again. I’m glad I did it. I did sign up for a number of pictures and I suppose, contractually, I would be obliged to, if they forced me to, but they wouldn’t want to force someone to do it, if they didn’t want to. I think I’ve done my dash with that sort of film. It was good to do it and try it out, but to be honest, it’s not the sort of film I seek out and really am excited by. As an actor, to do all sorts of different films is great. It stretches you in different ways. But, I increasingly like to go back to what I used to always do, which is to get involved with projects that I really have a personal affiliation with."
So it was basically: I tried it and didn't like it. No big.

Is Reb Brown still alive? Give him six months to get in shape. Boom, new Red Skull.
My various fanfics. The quote says he likes to do work where he has a "personal affiliation", I'd rather hope he doesn't have any kind of personal affiliation with being a crazy space Nazi who beats up Captain America.

“And the Bunny nails it!” ~ Gabrael “If the UN can get through a day without everyone strangling everyone else so can we.” ~ CyranThey should just use a new actor. Weaving doesn't seem to care about the role all that much so I doubt he'll be upset if they just replace him. The Red Skull has switched bodies several times in the comics so the change wouldn't be that odd.
Wait, so he has a personal affiliation with a 40 foot tall genocidal alien robot?

I get where Michael Bay is coming from, but I can't find it in me to care about Money, Dear Boy unless I didn't like the performance.
He probably watched in his youth.
Everybody wanted to be Megatron......so they could become Galvatron and blow up Starscream.
Doesn't Bay have a rep as being a pain to work with though? Because if that's the case then maybe actors aren't not coming back because they are rich toffs to want their artistic vision to happen, but instead they're not coming back because he's a pain to work with?

I get it. You always want your parents to be proud of you and him constantly insisting to use someone else made her think that he didn't believe in her and didn't trust her. It kind of paralleled the feelings for Ross, who also felt betrayed because Hank didn't tell him the truth.
