Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

There Might Be a Whole New Villain Appearing in Avengers: Infinity War

News outlets have not yet grasped the concept of Pragmatic Adaptation.
I really, really hope they're not gonna try to adapt Infinity War the comic, because it's just not very good. Magus is your stereotypical monologuing evil mastermind, all the other heroes besides Warlock and Thanos serve as nothing but cannon fodder, and pretty much the only really cool moment in the whole comic (Doom and Kang following Magus's trail and attempting to steal the Gauntlet from him) leads to nothing because Jim Starlin won't allow anyone but his pet characters (Warlock, Magus, and Thanos) to have any importance in the story.

There's also an international (aka 'Japanese') trailer out there that delves more into the family relationships. But it seems a bit spoilery.
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectThey can't even use the "My brainwaves are part of Vision" part of his character due to Ao U.

The first Twitter reactions for Ant-Man are very positive
. The general consensus is that apparently the two credit stingers are also huge, especially in comparison to some of the more recent ones.
Where did you get the idea he can't?

Honestly, while I think he can be used, I doubt that he will be used. I like Wondy, but he's never exactly been a high-profile or standout character; not even compared to his 'brother', Vision. (Who can't even be that in the MCU continuity.) And even if he does show up, it probably won't be for a looooooooooooong time. Maybe after Infinity War?
Thanks for posting the Japanese trailer. Lot of new scenes and additional details. I like the detail of him working at Baskin Robbins. Feels like the kind of thing Nick Spencer would think of.
I guess Judy Greer is playing Scott's ex- had to google her name, the character is usually called Peggy, but she's Maggie in the film (presumably due to One-Steve Limit).
Man, I am pleased with those reactions. I feel good about this.
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau Project@Swan: Eh, most of those seemed very impressed with the movie. Not really in 'mixed' territory yet.
And there's a bunch of other Twitter comments posted in the comments section.

IKR. Especially since Busiek's Wasp is superb.
