Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Some more plot details
as to how Ant-Man relates to the rest of the MCU:
- The Ten Rings are one of the groups trying to buy Yellowjacket technology from Darren Cross.
- Age of Ultron plays into why Hank Pym hates the Avengers, and there's apparently a surprise Avengers-related moment that is going to make the fans "freak out" when it happens.
Well, we were all at least partially expecting it, since we know there's a flashback of some sort where it would make sense.

Sounds like the shrinking and action sequences are going to look awesome.

Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectIs it wrong that my one wish for an Ant-Man film (not looking likely in this one) is that there's a fight sequence inside a pinball machine?
This song needs more love.I really hope the news about Ava Du Vernay directing Black Panther is true. She's done one fantastic movie, and my primary concern about this film was that it would deal with the title character and Wakanda in a clumsy or ham-handed manner. I'm far less worried about that with her in charge.
I don't know if she has any experience with action movies, but neither did the Russo brothers and they did a fantastic job, so that's not a prerequisite by any means.

That's why you get other people to help out with that part. It doesn't need to be a prerequisite.
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau Project@BP Director: Rumor was apparently debunked a few hours ago when it turned out all sites used the same source that refused to say anything on the subject. Everyone states it as fact when the source itself isn't saying anything and all the papers are using clickbaiting sites as "sources" on how confirmed it is.
@Ant-Man info: I'm guessing this means the other early rumors that had this info are true so there are going to be 3 major one on one fights, Hank will fight Scott at one point and Hank will meet someone from Tony's side of CW at the end and join their side.
Hopefully the Ten Rings will return in a movie other than a Iron Man movie because I'm honestly tired of him. Give us a Mandarin like the one in Fraction and Gillen's runs of the comic and I'll be happy.

Here is the infant that will be playing Spider-Man
That was a needlessly offensive way to describe a 19-year-old actor.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.I'm concerned only that he's British.
I really liked Andrew Garfield's accent in the Amazing films. He sounded much more like a New Yorker than the Default Hollywood Accent that Tobey Maguire used.
I hope Tom Holland can affect a believable New Yorker accent.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Y'know what'd be awesome? Two stingers:
- Stinger #1: Captain America and/or Iron Man, for some reason an wearing eyepatch, approaches Spider-Man to try and take him under their wing.
- Stinger #2: Doctor Octopus approaches the villain in prison (or saves them from death, if the movie seemingly kills them off), inviting them to join the Sinister Six.
Sure, it's the same thing I've been hoping they would do with Zemo and the Masters of Evil, but it works just as well here.

Or how about Spidey tries to "audition" for the Avengers by breaking into their headquarters, and fighting them...only to find out that they're not hiring and that he didn't earn their respect by going the route that he did.
Basically, the first half of Amazing Spider-Man #1, with the Avengers standing in for the FF.

I guess so.
