Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Actually, I forgot all about Red Skull. Another great villain. He was witty, but only because he was arrogant, and he was mocking everyone for their inferior intellect in the face of his Godhood. He was a bad man who did bad things and was too evil for the Nazis. And he was still menacing because he was always ahead of the game, and there was just something creepy about him.
Black Widow says "So that's your play" and Loki goes "ABUH WUH?"

At this point I think they've missed the boat on that.
I do like the idea that he was teleporked rather than simply disintegrated, but for all I know he was teleported into space or atomized into a million different places rather than being alive and kicking elsewhere.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!I want Chris and Haley to be a real-life couple. I don't care if that's weird, I want Steve and Peggy, dammit!
My various fanfics.Going back to villains, I think it's entirely possible for a villain to be both silly and threatening, maybe even scary.
Oh God! Natural light!

Yeah, let's agree to disagree. All that's really been accomplished so far is learning what everyone's taste in comic book adaptions is due to throwing our opinions around while loosing site of the original point of contention.
