Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

@Bocaj:
I saw that. Though there isn't an explanation to how that Kree artifact works exactly. I'm not even sure how it breached containment. Also, it felt like a sucker punch after I thought the episode was going have a good ending.
By the way, how did the inhumans know the "blue angels" were Kree, not "blue angels" or simply generic aliens?
It wasn't terrible. I loved Wanda and Pietro and Vision, and everything about Hawkeye. And Tony was okay! Cap did plenty of cool stuff too. There were lots of awesome things about AOU.
But it was just mediocre compared to Winter Soldier.

Yeah, but I feel like if I really enjoyed a movie, the idea of watching it again wouldn't cause me to feel dread.
@Victin: Fitz accidentally unlatched the thing because he's a clumsy idiot and it only had one latch because SHIELD doesn't know how to lock shit up.
Forever liveblogging the Avengers![]()
Honestly, I would have liked it better if there was less. There might have been a little too much during the climax.

Oh God! Natural light!Maybe it's just the fact that I usually automatically start shipping canon ships, but I didn't think there were any huge problems with the Nat/Bruce romance. Worst I can say about it was that it was unnecessary, but that's not really a big reason for complaint in my opinion (though I can definitely see why others would disagree).
Wait, Joss is gone? That sucks!

"We're home, Chewie."Eh. I still don't get it.
Of all the things you could criticize Joss Whedon for, his banter has got to be the least offensive. I mean... it's kind of all he's got, really. It's the only thing he's really good at.

"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."![]()
To be fair, though, that's kind of an appeal-to-worse-problems kinda thing.
Like, Whedon's style ain't for everyone. Just people with a sense of humor.

"We're home, Chewie."It was unnecessary, awkward, added nothing of value, and felt shoehorned in under the pretense of "Every movie must have a romance!"
Avengers 1 didn't have a romance outside of a bit of fluff with Stark and Potts near the start, and it worked just fine. Excellently, in fact.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Yeah, I guess.
I dunno. Maybe my sense of humour is just bad, but I was at least amused by every joke in Age of Ultron. And some of them were almost worth the price of admission ("I've got a bow and arrow, none of this makes sense!")
Um, excuse you, but Tony!Ultron is the best thing in the entire MCU. He was great!

"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."
Incredible Hulk had romance between Bruce and Betty... who I guess is crying in a corner now that everyone's forgotten about her.
I was actually looking forward to the Bruce/Natasha romance. The actual execution of it left me cold, especially when I found out later that Whedon only did the the Brucetasha romance because he wanted to go against the Marvel execs, who wanted a Clint/Natasha romance.
Ironically enough, the reason why Whedon didn't do a Clintasha romance in AOU was because he wanted to show that men and women could be friends.

So that's what the Avengers have to do when they get the Time Stone. Bring back Peggy, and bring back Janet.
EDIT: Alright. That second trailer? Kinda sold me with the whole "I want you to break into a place and steal some stuff." line.
I'm still not excited, but I'll hold my breath.
