Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

So I watched Age of Ultron again and there are still details I didn't notice before. Like, did anyone ever pay attention to what the two scientist are doing in the background when Tony is figuring out who the guy who changes the nuclear codes is?
Also, upon watching it again...I am pretty sure that the dialogue between Black Widow and Ultron was longer before the cuts. There is a very strange moment in it when Ultron starts monologueing out of nowhere about his plans. To me it looks like there was originally more text immediately beforehand, most likely involving Black Widow manipulating him into talking.
He also jumps very abruptly from talking to her casually and treating her like his Replacement Goldfish to intimidating her into the cage. Like, if he always wanted her in the cage, there's no reason she couldn't have woke up in the cage.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub. They are working on a live action movie and a animated one but we don't know if the last one is in the MCU or not.
Edit: Stan Lee is done with his CW cameo.

Mysterio would be great for a movie because come on. His whole thing is movies and special effects.
I don't know if Mysterio has the 'scope' that tends to be favored for movies though.
Which is kind of a shame, that the need for the epic excludes some fun villains.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersHmm...I suppose 3 villains is too much, but what if you had two working as partners?
Kraven and Mysterio? At least one version of Kraven I've seen has him start out as a celebrity.

Oh God! Natural light!But scope?
Like, these days supervillains have to be trying to destroy the city or kill a bunch of people or I guess trying to kill the superhero while destroymurdering the city to justify a movie.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersThe Ant-Man movie?
Edit:
dangit.

The important thing for the MCU is that the concept is strong. They can always skip whatever doesn't work and do a good adaptation of the character, as long as there is anything interesting about him or her.
