Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

I am not very good with how English pronunciation transliteration works, but in this interview
this issue is addressed (at about 6:40), and it seems to me it is clearly a 3 syllable name.
Unbeatable Squirrel Girl is awesome, everyone should read it. Even if you don't like the recurring joke of how Squirrel Girl can beat up everyone, this book actually gives reasonable explanations of how she is able to defeat, like, Galactus (she befriends him and finds him an uninhabited planet to eat).

Squirrel Girl's novelty wore off long ago. Contrived explanations for how she beats everything and everyone do not make her more funny, they just highlight how desperately her one-note is being milked.
She peaked when she beat Dr Doom that one time by having squirrels sabotage his equipment. It was all downhill from there.

That was her first appearance. So I take it you haven't read anything else with her in it.
In any case, Unbeatable Squirrel Girl is hilarious and awesome and everyone should read it.
I can shoot lasers from my eyes and create and destroy life at will so obviously talking to squirrels is not that big of a deal.
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies. The writing is good but God I wish the art wasn't so distractingly Gonk all the time. Sometimes it's cute, other times it's Accidental Nightmare Fuel. Especially when it comes to male faces.
