Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

You should read the current Unbeatable Squirrel Girl comic. It's written by Ryan "Dinosaur Comics" North and it's hilarious.
Tippy-Toe: What enemies are you talking about? You're the Unbeatable Squirrel Girl! Who doesn't like you?
Doreen: I don't know! Jerks, I guess?

She's not wrong.
Anyway, they set up the recent Galactus arc a lot like the 'squirrel girl just wins because' jokes but the resoultion was much much better.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersAnyone notice that every film in Phase 2 has someone losing an arm at one point?
Iron Man 3, Stark lops off Killian's arm during the battle.
Thor 2, Loki pretends to slice Thor's arm off.
Cap 2, Bucky lost his arm and got a metal one.
Guardians of the Galaxy, Gamora hacks off Groot's arms during the first fight.
Age of Ultron, Ultron destroys Klaue's hand.
I watched Ao U again and it honestly played way better the second time.
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectThanos: Good, good. Your hate has made you powerful. Now fulfill your destiny and take Nebula's place at my side.
Captain America: Never, I'll never turn to the dark side. You failed, Thanos. I am a hero like the Avengers before me.
Thanos: So be it, Avenger. If you will not be turned, you will be destroyed. -electrocutes-
On the opposite end of the spectrum, it could also be a great moment of frustration for Thanos. He beats the living shit out of Thor (along with all the other Avengers) and decides to pick up Mjolnir just to be a dick about it. He doesn't even move it. A battered and bloodied Thor grins and quips he's not worthy.
Cue Thanos flipping his shit upon realizing as powerful as he is, there are some things he'll never conquer.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."
