Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

It's also simultaneously threatening and hilarious. Thanos finally suiting up in the Infinity Gauntlet: terrifying, raises anticipation.
Thanos shouting, "Fine, I'll do it myself!" like a sulking parent fed up with their kid's incompetence at the chore they were assigned: priceless. XD

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub. That was certainly a massive Oh, Crap! moment when I saw it in the cinema.
Also, along with Loki and Red Skull, Ultron is now one of the best villains of the MCU. Loved that he wasn't just a Cyberman with superpowers, he had an actual personality.
What a tool

Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.I can't remember if I ever shared this
with the thread so I'll do it now because everyone needs to see this once.

"Thanos shouting, "Fine, I'll do it myself!" like a sulking parent fed up with their kid's incompetence at the chore they were assigned: priceless. XD "
Actually, it sound like he read all the comment on the internet about him and goes "OK,OK I will go myseft now, happy?" which is still funny XD
"And Tony actually got his Iron Shield; Vision's creation vindicated his entire stance"
Barely, he work more about luck than anything else, to quote Raiden in a MK game "why I should thank you for fixing your mistake"
Less see if there is unless a side efect of the whole thing
also....another Helicarrier SHIELD? you dont learn your leason of that is the only way to you?
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"

I don't know, it wouldn't really have much impact. Plus the fact that this guy was a director in the first two films but quit because of too much Executive Meddling would probably come off a little meanspirited even if it's not intented to be that way.
Not talking about Whedon, I'm talking about Favreau/Happy unless he's changed his tune in recent interviews.

It's actually the same Helicarrier from the first Avengers. They just saved it. Also, it was used to save thousands of lives, so yes, I believe they did learn their lesson.
He didn't quit because of Executive Meddling. He quit because he was tired and doing two more movies would take up too much of his time.

Actually that's the same Helicarrier from Avengers. They just blew the dust off it and set it back in the air.
Besides, as far as we know it isn't significantly armed like the Insight ones, it's more of a mobile base and rescue vehicle than a weapon.

You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Anyone else want Infinity War to end by Squirrel Girl just jump kicking Thanos out of nowhere?
Everyone that said no is morally wrong.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersI want a Squirrel Girl movie that's just Squirrel Girl running around through all the different Marvel movies fixing plot holes and tying up loose ends.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Eh. Let Deadpool have the super-gimmicky meta stuff. Squirrel-Girl does well with a dab of it here and there but I think she can largely hold her own story together without patching one out of "hey did you notice blockbuster films are not bastions of absolute logic? it's true"
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies."actually that's the same Helicarrier from Avengers. They just blew the dust off it and set it back in the air. "
I see, is just after the avenger and winter soldier, you would thing they used something diferent than a damn helicarrier, it becoming a chararter in their own right
"Anyone else want Infinity War to end by Squirrel Girl just jump kicking Thanos out of nowhere?"
And them going into the fantastic four to kick Doom ass off screen..
you know, just because
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"There are probably things to be done with Squirrel-Girl besides just having her break "who would win?" debates over and over again.
I would like to see some of those.
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.
Squirrel-Girl is actually really fun, especially in her current title! But that's because it, y'know, utilizes her as a character, rather than just repeating the same joke over and over and over.
If a move with her did that it would be great.
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.

Plus the reason they are toning down the stingers is because the sequel hooks are already integrated into the movies themselves, each MCU film is continuing the story of the other in varying degrees. Thanos at this point is a well established threat and leaving him out of the story entirely is leaving a hole in the story. The whole "I'll deal with this myself" is rather bland but it reaffirms that he is "the endgame" Tony is worried about, and that is an important thing to bring up given the events of the plot.
