Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Forever liveblogging the AvengersI wanna give Ultron a h-hug now.
But the Vision was an alright guy. Or is that because the Vision is really Thor's hammer, Jarvis and the Mind Stone put together as opposed to Stark's programming and the Mindstone
He was kind of insane. The stone is telling him one thing and Stark's programming another and he kind of has to jump through some logical hoops to get his two directives to work together and make sense to him.
Kind of like HAL. "Tell the crew everything" "Don't tell them stuff"
"Guess if I kill them then I don't have to keep secrets! I'm smart."
I think it's because he's the Mind Gem and J.A.R.V.I.S., as opposed to Thanos's AI and Stark's programming. Whether Thanos created the AI or the Mind Gem did, the implication that it was doing Thanos's work when it completed Stark's peacekeeper AI is clear. Vision, however, has the pure Mind Gem itself and not the AI surrounding it.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.The MCU: the story about how you just can't find good help these days.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersLike Bocaj said, it also explains why Thanos gave Loki the Mind Gem in the first place, and adds credibility to the idea that Loki's behavior in the first Avengers film was influenced by it.
- THE OTHER: Take this scepter and, with it, the power to enslave minds!
- LOKI: Wicked cool! I can't wait to use this to achieve my goals! Wait, why would he give this to me? Isn't he at all concerned that I might turn it against him?
- SCEPTER: Nah, he totally trusts you. You have all the power here.
- LOKI: Awesome! ...wait, who said that? Did this thing just talk?
- SCEPTER: No, I absolutely did not.
- LOKI: Oh, that's a relief. For a second, I was worried it might be affecting my thoughts. Time to conquer Asgard!
- SCEPTER: Earth.
- LOKI: Time to conquer Earth!

oh noooooo
its never good when the armor starts talking on its own
Forever liveblogging the AvengersThe Jealous Iron Cockpit: I can make anyone Mighty.
Mew Mew: Only the Mighty may wield me.
Worst Dart Board Ever: Bitch please, I Am Mighty.
Mental Phallic Symbol: Y'all will be Mighty Mind Raped when I'm through with you. Also, Evil Mighty Robot Time.
Called it that because I've got a dart board based on Cap's Mighty Shield, but the actual shield would suck as one due to being made of Vibranium.
And now the joke is ruined. Yay.
I also thought of calling it a Billion Dollar Frisbee, if that works for you.

Quicksilver. Or Qony Stark.
