Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

I doubt any of the Inhuman stuff in Agents of SHIELD will have any bearing on the actual Inhumans movie. It's basically just there to be like "Okay, this stuff totally has been happening for a while" so when the movie comes out they can say that without bullshitting even though none of the previous movies really set it up.
I'd love if Skye gets a cameo, don't get me wrong, she's the best, but I'll understand if that doesn't happen.
I'll agree that they could have just gotten a different character to fill Coulson's role, though.

"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."Looks like Cap's Civil War costume got rid of the red trim, which was probably my biggest issue with his AOU costume. His The First Avengers costume was the best due to its practical look, and his Director of SHIELD costume looks good all around, but this is probably the best out of his comics-authentic outfits.
Clearly they will get Fake Shemp versions of the Avengers to cameo in AOS to learn the truth.
Note that the Inhumans movie is going to be centered around the royal family, while the Inhumans in the show are 1: Not royal, and 2: Completely unaware that there's anyone else. So it's going to be a background thing, and we might get a cameo or two if we're lucky. I suspect if nothing else we'll get a line like "SHIELD has been aware of Inhumans in general for some time. A few of them are actually agents."
Short version: Descendants of Kree-modified humans. They're completely human until they get exposed to a mist from special crystals, at which point they develop a power and may undergo extreme body mutation (one guy is a teleporter with an Eyeless Face).

Writing a post-post apocalypse LitRPG on RR. Also fanfic stuff.Basically, as it works in this continuity, the Kree (who you may know from GOTG) genetically modified a bunch of humans on Earth to basically be "sleeper agents" for them. Weapons, essentially.
These people are activated by something called the "Terrigen mists," which are located in ancient underground cities that the Kree built when they had an empire on Earth, I guess? When a person who has the Kree genetic modification is touched by the mists, they gain superpowers. Some people get cool stuff, like the ability to vibrate things at the molecular level, or a healing factor, and others get turned into human hedgehogs who can see the future, or lose their eyes and have to see through, I dunno, magic or something.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."Adding to what the others have said, there are Inhuman settlements that exist in very remote locations in Asia. They're a secret society that has existed for millennia with minimal contact with non-Inhuman societies.

From the sound of it the movie won't JUST be the royal family. This was the original logline floating around:
Feige's response
was that it was "relatively fair" so it would sound like some of the more recent Inhumans will be involved.

Quantum entanglement, I think
I am pleased to see that the Kree are still the biggest jerks in space. Those jerks.

Actually, the show did allude to other people not seem including other leadership. We can't say for sure, of course, but for all we know the Royals are just there in contact with the Inhumans of the show and just never make an appearance. At any rate, yeah, I doubt the show will be overly important to the movie. Probably just exist as background story, even if somewhat connected to the characters of the movie.
As for Couson, I don't mind him coming back much, but I think it was a good idea not have him in Age Of Ultron. Probably not a good idea to have him in any movie, in fact. His reunion with the Avengers could be an special or whatever. One of the shorts, maybe.

They've made it pretty clear the Inhumans movie will focus on Atillan and the royal family, which sounds like it will be very self contained (hence why it's coming out after Infinity War part 2). So you won't need to have watched the TV show to understand it, but if you have it will be much better established.

Maybe she doesn't need to be a love interest?
She's basically the Avatar. She'll need to wait until the last minute of the movie to make out with someone anyway.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersIt's pretty strongly indicated that the Inhuman colony in the show answers to a hierarchy above them. On a few different occasions, the colony's leader talks as though she does not have complete authority in the colony, as though she answers to someone higher.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Man, I am super-miffed about what happened to Raina, you guys. Like yeah, okay, the HYDRA guys tend to get shot dead. But Ward gets to go into hiding, get a cute little romance arc, and then skip town again consequence-free. Hal gets his family back. Raina, though, she needed to be knocked down a peg! Have her get deformed, lock her up, spiral her into a self-pitying depression! Wait until she's at her lowest to give her her powers! Meanwhile, she's the only villain on the show who's had practically no autonomy. She was constantly under the thumb of people who were lying to her, manipulating her, putting a gun to her head. Every excuse Ward's given is one Raina actually has, and she's never even killed anyone! Meanwhile, a homicidal maniac and a deranged double-agent get basically everything they want. Why does she get the suckiest ending?

Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies. Can people come back to life if it makes him more sad?
She has killed people though?

I'd probably say that unless we are dealing with a character whose story is so heavily intertwined with their love interest that it's impossible to excise the relationship from their story and be left with a recognizable character (which is extremely rare), they don't need to be in a relationship. Especially in the first Inhumans movie.

The show is needed to keep fans up to date on the Marvel Cinematic Universe when there isn't a movie or Netflix show out.
