Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Aaaagh, this is awkward for me. Because I hate The Punisher. He's boring and lame and stupid and fuck you Garth Ennis.
But I love Tom Hardy.
My various fanfics.I like Thor/Jane. It was set up poorly but they really do have good chemistry in Dark World.
The role reversal would've been glorious.

Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.![]()

Was that...some kind of sand storm? With lightning?
...
Is what I just said even remotely possible?

C'mon, guys, can't we just get beyond Thunderdome?
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.I'd like to make a passing mention to the fact Tom Hardy's Punisher would never match Thomas Jane's punisher. Man was born for that role.
But I support that casting, yes.

I'm sure they could have him enact some other plot. Ultron is probably the most iconic Avengers villain and his mechanical nature makes destroying him for good virtually impossible.
edit: In the comics he was responsible for the second incarnation of The Masters of Evil. If they ever use him they could bring him back as The Man Behind the Man.
edit 2: Anybody else getting major Uncanny Valley vibes from this picture
of Ultron?

Not really. The Punisher is boring.
