Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

In the first movie Odin treats him very fairly. And in the second he actually treats him quite well considering he's guilty of (in modern terms) high treason, murder, attempted genocide, participation in another attempted genocide and attempted fratricide. In any lawful court in the world, he'd be facing a death sentence.
Odin is being astoundingly merciful by letting him live.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."In the last battle against Surtur, in Thor: Ragnarok, Loki finally does die finally...
...but Thor cannot accept that, so he descends into Limbo and pulls him out. As a kid.
That's right: it's time for KID LOKI. And then Teen Loki! And then Loki, Agent of Asgard! Yeah, motherfuckers!

I actively try to separate my opinion of characters themselves from their terrible fanbases, and I did like Loki in Thor 2 despite being indifferent to hating him in the previous two films. I do agree the character has outlasted his welcome though, and it's partly his fault that Thor 2 was so terrible, and unless Ragnarok pulls a miracle, Loki should die so the Asgardians in the MCU can be retired for the time being.
I also liked Thor 2. I certainly remember more of it than I remember Thor.
Forever liveblogging the Avengers
x4 Because they hacked and slashed the shit out of that movie to cram in more Loki scenes to increase profits from wet panties.

My various fanfics.Wet panty money is just good as creamed nerd boxers as far as Marvel is concerned.
And why wouldn't it be? Green is green is sorta rainbowish in the higher denominations.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersI really enjoyed Thor, though. I can't explain why, but I absolutely loved it.

While the execution was spectacularly poor, there's nothing wrong with actively trying to please female fans in and of itself, nor Pandering to the Base in principle.
I also preferred Thor 1 on the whole, despite enjoying the Loki scenes in Thor 2 more than the best parts of Thor 1.

I thought it was decent, though I liked the Asgard scenes more than the Earth scenes (oddly enough, I was more into the Earth scenes in the sequel).
Oh God! Natural light!Err...
Doesn't anyone want to talk about the possibility of having Tom Hardy as The flippin' Punisher
?

Yeah it's deliberately not shown because it's not real, it's all in his imagination. He's treated fine but acts like a spoiled brat because he's not allowed to do whatever eh wants.
