Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Martin Freeman, eh? Hmm. I don't know much of established Marvel comics stuff; are there any characters who are dragged into being heroes and are just constantly vexed by this unwanted adventure he finds himself in? Because that's basically every other Martin Freeman character, so.
"We're home, Chewie."Skipped a lot of pages so I have no clue what were talking about.
So who's looking forward to the How It Should Have Ended parody of this movie?
One Strip! One Strip!Martin Freeman for Gravity?
The movie.
Like, his costume is just an enormous dvd case.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersOh. I hadn't heard anything about the quality of Elementary and I've never watched Sherlock so uh
it would be cool for Lucy Liu to have a part in the MCU if she wants it.
Forever liveblogging the Avengers...
Really? Aw poo.
Don't want people chewing me out for parroting stuff I said already, but I totally thought they could've used the black suit as an "in mourning" thing...
It's not a case of Viewers Are Morons, is it?

So who is Freeman playing?
Also, I just had some Fridge Brilliance on Ultron's Villain Ball moment with the Quinjet. If this one has been brought up, let me know.
So everyone is all like You idiot! You knew they wanted to destroy all your bodies! Why didn't you just fly off safe and re-group? Then you remember the single Ultron robot that was crawling away from the the battle (the one that, according to This Very Wiki was thrown off the city by Steve earlier and was found and destroyed by Vision after the battle, and you suddenly realize he was doing just that.
The edge of multiple bodies: you can multi-task. It didn't work out, but that's not his fault.
Also, there's still a possibility that Vision missed one. But I got another theory from an outside source that there was a place Ultron could have hidden himself....inside the Vision.
They were connected when the latter burned the former out of the net. Maybe Ultron left some of himself inside the Vision and hid deeply to avoid detection. Now how long he stays if this is correct depends on if Vision would be smart enough to check his systems immediately after removing Ultron from the net (which I think he would be admittedly), or if the heat of battle left him with no opportunity to do so. If it's the former, I believe he'd given himself a diagnostic eventually, but if Ultron found a way out before that, he'd be safe until he could make his comeback.
This is a wonky theory though, but I still want to put it out there.
One Strip! One Strip!
I don't think that Vision could have missed one...he was basically following Ultron through the net. Even Shield knew exactly where he was the whole time, which was everywhere before Vision shut him off.
I think that's two points a lot of people miss. There is so much talk about Ultron's "minions" but he doesn't have any, all those robots are Ultron, too. And that a large part of the battle happened online, so to speak. In a way Tony got what he wanted in the end, the big almighty AI which would protect the world.

Mmm....are there any cuddle "everyday guys" in the Marvel comics? That's the role he plays best, and Marvel rarely casts against type (honestly, I sometimes wonder how many of those actors are actually playing themselves).
