Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Forever liveblogging the AvengersI tend to not get interested in things until way after everyone else has, so I've kind of just gotten into all *gesticulates wildly* this.
Also, I accidentally turned my mom into a Marvel fan! When I was talking about Captain America: The Winter Soldier, she said I made it sound so interesting that it made her curious. She's now gone through that, Captain America: TFA, The Avengers, Iron Man 2 & 3 (multiple times, all), Guardians of the Galaxy, Thor, and she wants to see Age of Ultron.
Imagine seeing your 67 year old mother laughing so hard she almost fell out of her chair at Tony Stark punking out a Senator (who she remembered from TWS, bless her heart)on live television. Or stating with complete sincerity that she wants the Winter Soldier's left arm. And Falcon's wings. And she totally understands why a person would ogle Chris Evans
.
In short, I've created a monster. I just wanted to talk to someone in real life...
Ah, but it's a good feeling to convert a fan.
I just watched this today. It was...underwhelming. There was some fangirling and I laughed, but there were also many disappointing moments. It's nice to have official confirmation of all the gems, though. I'm still excited for Infinity War.
And if I claim to be a wise man, well, it surely means that I don't know.So actually, Thor says that four of the gems have been accounted for.
Tesseract, Aether, Mind Stone, and Power Stone. Which means he heard about the Xander stuff I guess.
And I think they said they're not doing Soul Stone? in the MCU so I guess that's just the Time Stone left.
I wish they hadn't stopped giving them awesome silly names.
Forever liveblogging the Avengers... Did it come to me in a dream?
How bizarre. No, maybe I was thinking of Assemble where they cut out the Soul Gem?
Forever liveblogging the AvengersI haven't heard anything about Janet even having an appearence, even in flashback. So, no clue.

I'll listen, but you better not ask to me to look. Little fairy bastard...

At this stage having different writers is not necessarily a bad thing. It becomes a problem though when they don't really streamline the different ideas before they start to shoot.
