Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Technically it was introduced in Winter Soldier. Ao S just ran with it.
Actually, that face-mask technology kinda renders Chameleon's whole shtick moot since literally anyone can be a master of disguise now. I'm picturing him spending years perfecting the special effects art needed to impersonate anyone, and then he sees some SHIELD agent slap on a face mask, and it just breaks his little Russian heart.
I've got fanfics for Frozen, Spectacular Spider-Man, Crash Bandicoot, and Spyro the Dragon.![]()

Alternatively, maybe he was the one who invented the technology in the first place, and he's since made an upgraded version that's harder to detect and that SHIELD doesn't know exists?

"Cynic, n. — A blackguard whose faulty vision sees things as they are, not as they ought to be." - The Devil's DictionaryOh, that's good. And it loses the Tragic Villain thing that happens a lot.

Huh, so both Avengers Chrises (?) are contracted for both halves of Infinity War. Guess they're probably not dying.

While I agree they are probably not dying (at least not before Infinity War Part 2), the contracts aren't exactly set in stone.
Firstly because the studio is rarely under any real obligation to use an actor they have under contract. They might have to cut them a check, but it will be a trivial amount for a studio that makes hundreds of millions of dollars in a bad year. Sometimes this is with the actor's full consent, if Red Skull turns up again the role is likely to be recast even though Hugo Weaving is technically under contract for two more movies since he doesn't want to return to the role.
Secondly because just because a character is dead doesn't mean they can't show up in the movie. Flashbacks, visions or hallucinations are all pretty common ways for an actor to play a character that is dead at the time the story of the movie is taking place.
I've read a review of Age of Ultron saying that a major character does die, for good, in the movie, and that it's a big emotional moment.
Given that the review also says that Hawkeye has a larger role and is the heart of the group in the movie, I'd say it's very likely that he's the one who ends up dying. Also, the only other options are Black Widow and War Machine, and it had better not be either of them, because Marvel's got enough diversity issues as it is. The only other possibility is Bruce Banner...which would definitely pack an emotional punch and build up the scale of the threat because everything we've seen up to this point indicates the Hulk can't be killed. It can't be one of the twins, because the audience isn't attached to them enough yet for it to have a big effect.
If they kill off Bruce, I'll be very sad, but it could be a very strong moment. If they kill off Black Widow, I'll be livid.

The Stinger is the ghosts of Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, and Steve Ditko smiling at the Avengers ala Return Of The Jedi.

Two questions:
One, how do you know this, again?
Two, was it, in your opinion, a good idea to do so?
Oh God! Natural light!
