Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

I've got fanfics for Frozen, Spectacular Spider-Man, Crash Bandicoot, and Spyro the Dragon.I'm trying to think of some more Daredevil-themed puns, but my mind's too Foggy. Oh well, I guess it doesn't really Matt-er...
I've got fanfics for Frozen, Spectacular Spider-Man, Crash Bandicoot, and Spyro the Dragon.New Ant-Man trailer on Monday
. The reactions seem to peg it as a vast improvement over the first one.

This should be interesting.
My only issue with the first trailer was that it didn't give any new information that anyone who was following the movie didn't already know, but then trailers are more for general audiences so that didn't bother me that much.
Since that one's already got the basics, this one should have lots more interesting stuff.
Just finished Daredevil. It was amazing. I never thought I'd say this, but the Owl was my favorite character.

I liked him too. I mean, I wouldn't normally like the "rich asshole" type, but the Deadpan Snarker bit sells the character for me. I don't suppose there's any chance that he survived that fall, is there?
I loved how completely out of his depth he was. He's surrounded by a mystical Dragon Lady, a Japanese man from an ancient ninja clan, human traffickers, and a criminal Kingpin capable of making all of them work together... and he's just an accountant. An unethical, intelligent accountant, but still just an accountant.
He makes mention of a son, Lee, who will probably end up becoming the Owl.
Writing a post-post apocalypse LitRPG on RR. Also fanfic stuff.Obviously, Owsley will rise from the grave as an owl-themed supervillain to terrorize the night skies of Hell's Kitchen.

Yeah that's immediately what I thought. Especially since they made a point of mentioning the son more than once.
Methinks a Decomposite Character is in the works. Between that and the references to The Hand, Bullseye and Elektra it seems like they've set up appearances from several Daredevil rogues in Season 2.

Just finished the season finale of Daredevil.
I was at first a bit worried that we weren't going to get an actual battle between Murdock and Fisk, but thankfully once he got about halfway through his Good Samaritan spiel I realized he was hatching something. Was not disappointed by the ensuing fight.
Anyway, I liked each of the crime bosses. The Russian mobster went out in an awesome way, I wasn't expecting the Yakuza businessman to be a HAND NINJA who personally takes on Daredevil, nor was I expecting the Triad head to be... whatever the hell she IS, and Owlsey was pretty snarky and entertaining and his final speech to Kingpin was pretty badass even if it got him thrown down a shaft.

You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!
You know, I can handle them killing Owlsley, but killing off Ben Urich makes absolutely no sense - he could easily have been a recurring character across the Netflix shows, and his death doesn't really accomplish anything at all - Fisk goes down next episode, and Urich's death doesn't contribute to it at all.

Oh God! Natural light!Ben's death closes off the possibility of them exposing Fisk through the evidence they gathered, as not only did he have all the evidence on him, but he was the only credible venue they could use to get the information out there. It's still a freaking waste to actually kill him and remove all the plot potential a character as important as him as (as apposed to injuring him and having Fisk take the evidence without his death), but there is a plot reason it contributes.
