Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Because Marvel felt like adapting The Death of Captain America twice.

The only Netflix show that needs to have lots of swearing is Jessica Jones. It's just not Jessica Jones if the f-bomb's not getting dropped every two seconds.

I've got fanfics for Frozen, Spectacular Spider-Man, Crash Bandicoot, and Spyro the Dragon.
Don't forget The Defenders! She's going to be in that, too!
There's a lot of cursing and very liberal usage of "shit" but yeah no F-bombs as far as I can tell. Even in situations where it makes sense they use "Frick" for some reason.
Also someone pointed out to me that there's a neat nod to Steel Serpent
that I'm taking as Foreshadowing for Iron Fist.
Even when that happens they usually try to get a couple of years out of the death or replacement.
There's literally no point in killing off Steve or Tony when in just a few months after AOU, we're gonna start getting teasers for a movie starring them that is set to open only a year later.

@wanderlustwarrior: Because of Daredevil, Age of Ultron, or both?

"Cynic, n. — A blackguard whose faulty vision sees things as they are, not as they ought to be." - The Devil's DictionarySo after finishing Daredevil, it feels like Marvel really is setting up a lower-level universe with the Netflix shows (that is, that they're not all individual shows that only cross over in Defenders, but that characters from each will recur throughout them and their events will influence each other).
Gao, given the hint with her symbol and the hints that there's something... strange, possibly mystical about her towards the end of the series, is probably going to be important to Iron Fist's storyline. I'd bet that Claire is going to show up in Luke Cage and/or Jessica Jones (or even in Iron Fist by association), too, though in different capacities for each. There's probably others - I feel the whole "war" thing Stick was talking about might either be connected to K'un Lun or even be the basis of the plot of Defenders as a whole. And then of course there's Fisk...
Either, Fisk might rival Loki and Winter Soldier as the MCU's most engaging villain thus far. He's definitely an interesting guy - in general, Daredevil stands out by having everyone, even the villains, have developed and even understandable reasons for what they do. It's not Grey-and-Grey Morality as much as having everyone be a character, but it's definitely noticeable.

The many dead girlfriends of Matt.
Hopefully a few of them actually survive if they show up in the show in the future.
New Spider-Man confirmed as Peter Parker in high school.

I'd kinda argue against Winter Soldier being a good villain. Regardless of the technicalities of the term he's basically an Empty Shell and those don't make strong villain material due to their passiveness. Pierce is better qualified for that position, and I personally thought he was a pretty good one if underdeveloped.

Or a random bystander.
