Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Watched the first two episodes. I see what they mean about it being a lot more violent than the movies.
What exactly did he do to that mook on the rooftop? Jam something into his eyesocket? I couldn't quite make out what the nurse was saying.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!
Pretty much. The nurse told him to hit a very specific nerve in the guy's eye socket, and that DD would know once he hit it because the guy would scream.

Thanks for clarifying. As a casual X-Men fan, I must not have gotten it.

Notably comparing it to BW's waifu fighting style where she takes equal numbers of dudes down faster by using weapons and grapples to slam peoples faces into very hard objects where as Matt just punches guys. Presumably he'll get better over the course of the season by picking up those Eskrima style sticks he uses in the trailers.
Entertainment Weekly has a rundown on what to expect from AOU after seeing the screening
. Among others:
- Linda Cardellini is playing someone important and her identity's reveal is part of what they call major emotional payoff.
- There is a major death and it looks to be permanent, not a fakeout or easily reversible one.
- Despite the plethora of cameos and Mythology Gags, no cameos from Spider-Man, Captain Marvel or Doctor Strange. There are major teases for Black Panther and references to the Winter Soldier, but neither one appears in person.
- And, frustratingly: the mystery woman from the trailer does not appear in any capacity. The whole scene was cut!

Edit: Guess they might've been talking about Peggy in hindsight, although I never really thought of her as a "spy".

Clearly he's coming back for flashbacks :P Major character death is apparently a thing in this movie but if it isn't Clint I fear my Cho prediction is going to be spot-on and that would just be sad this early.
Edit: Or it's Piotr and we all celebrate not having to write MCU! or X-Men! before every mention of him! :P

This is only a guess on my part, but I'm gonna say, "bye, bye, Quicksilver, We Hardly Knew You."

Could you explain? I'm only on episode four right now, and I don't know if I missed it.
