Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

I'm catching a marathon (of the first one and Ao U) on april 21. Stoked! Those reactions definetly sound promising, though I'm avoiding them as much as I can.
Sing the song of sixpence that goes burn the witch, we know where you liveDaredevil is awesome so far. Gritty and dark without ever feeling like it's "trying too hard", and barely feels like a superhero show. But it is tied into the rest of the MCU in a direct but still disconnected way. The taste of the old Affleck movie is long gone.
The fight scenes crush basically any other superhero show (or movie even), including Arrow.
Okay, just saw the first Daredevil episode. That was worth the wait. I'm... I'm in awe right now. I'm really glad I quit watching Arrow well before this came out, because this show just makes it look sad by comparison.
I think my favorite part was how they put in nods to the Avengers without making me want to roll my eyes. Like, Agents of Shield's pilot has Avengers toys in store windows and every episode had a plot like "LOOK THE VILLAIN'S USING A MIX OF EXTREMUS, GAMMA RAYS, AND THE SUPER SOLDIER SERUM! JUST LIKE THE AVENGERS MOVIES! GET IT? GET IT?" In Daredevil, they just make a couple vague allusions here and there. I also like how they lampshaded all the destruction the Avengers caused during the Chitauri invasion.
I've got fanfics for Frozen, Spectacular Spider-Man, Crash Bandicoot, and Spyro the Dragon.![]()

...Damn. Nice intro, although the cartoony logo does kind of clash with the overall aesthetic.
I'm going to watch the first episode later today, see what I think.
Oh God! Natural light! It still amuses me to think that every time we see Daredevil beating up thugs to a pulp and it's all rainy and grimy, somewhere out in space, there's also a talking raccoon and an anthropomorphic duck.
I've got fanfics for Frozen, Spectacular Spider-Man, Crash Bandicoot, and Spyro the Dragon. In the comics it takes the first arc(post-Conquest) to have any of the Guardians on Earth(they exit a portal from the Negative Dimension and has to go to the FF to tell them to never open their portal to the same place again which takes 3 pages)and then stays off Earth and the human super teams until Bendis takes over and has them team up with the Avengers as soon as he could.
The Cosmic character that actually spends some time on Earth post-Annihilation is the guy who lost his old team when Civil War started: Nova.

I'm not going to trust that and go by what video games (DLC releases and World Of Warcraft maintenance) have taught me. Go to sleep, check when you wake up. If it's not there then it'll be there after you finish work, school, or errands.
