Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

AH WHY ARE HIS HANDS SO FLESHY
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies. The combination of Yellowjacket and punch in a sentence makes me uneasy.

I remember reading a few years back about how Paul Bettany hadn't even seen any of the Iron Man movies despite being in them and just showed up, recorded the stuff, got his money, and left.
I wonder if he's more invested now that he's physically acting.
"A king has no friends. Only subjects and enemies."He sounds happy about being Vision. "I used to be in a studio for 45 minutes and do J.A.R.V.I.S. and get a huge bag of cash and go my way like a burglar, and now they want me to work for my money. Which is great and sweaty and hot, which you’ll realize once they unveil everything. It’s really f***ing cool. It’s great to join this train which is on really clear tracks."
@ Geth Knight:
Man, that poster makes me wonder if that's actually CG or very, very well-applied makeup. I'm not saying that's bad or anything. It's just a comment.
Did they say Vision was motion-captured or something?
Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely will be writing Infinity War
.
Vision is practical effects with some CGI enhancements. He even showed up for a split second in that BTS feature
◊ Marvel did a few months ago.

The first Twitter reactions are in
: The consensus seems to be it's really good and Hawkeye is one of the major standouts.
Well, you'd find plenty of folks who'll disagree with you on that point.
But I love the idea of more Hawkeye. Nice to see he's getting more to do, and may even be one of the movie's best parts.

I agree. I loved Hawkeye's role in the first movie, and have always thought it was kind of disappointing that it went so disliked at large.
I can understand the actor being disappointed that he spent so much time playing the villain when he didn't necessarily want to (though at the time I noticed he only started saying so after the internet was already talking about it), but so many his scenes get outright invalidated by fans.

Press screenings. Advance screenings.
Sooooo... it's April 10th (barely). Where's my Daredevil? I need it NOW! Come ON, Netflix, don't tease me like this!
I've got fanfics for Frozen, Spectacular Spider-Man, Crash Bandicoot, and Spyro the Dragon.

Vision looks weird. I don't know why, he just loods strange. Could just be the poster though.
Could just be the Uncanny Valley.
