Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

They both move at the speed of plot.

Flash's top speed is faster than Quicksilver by at least an order of magnitude or two, probably more (Quicksilver tops out at around the speed of sound, iirc, except for in Days Of Future Past), except for when deprived of the Speed Force.
Flash's speed (and the Speed Force in general with its many applications) is one of the most broken things in a universe already full of people with abilities that are broken even by superhero standards.

Canonically Green Arrow also has taken down the Flash (or more accurately an Evil Counterpart of him) through Improbable Aiming Skills so I imagine something similar could work for Hawkeye.

They pointed out she has a another lab in one of the cities that Ultron shows up in so she will probably die bravely figuring out a way to beat him or something along those lines.
Edit: Vision has the same problem that I think Ultron has: they look TOO human. They aren't robots but humans in robo uniforms.

I really like the look of the Vision. Kind of makes me think of Dr. Manhattan (but without the aversion to pants) in that combination of humanity and alienness.
Ultron is a bit odd looking due to what seems like an Ink-Suit Actor aspect. Although, you definitely get the feeling of "Iron Man suit turned evil".
Everyone I would be interested in seeing in a spinoff is a character I don't want to leave AoS to do it.
Like Skye. Or Bobbi. Or Hunter.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Vision should look like a ridiculously human robot. That's what he is.
He still looks uncanny because of his red skin and because his default expression is an intense spock glare.
But he should look like a silly man in a silly romper suit.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersI just don't understand the practical purpose of building your robot body to have a realistic human face. Like, out-of-universe, I know it's so the audience can feel their emotions better or whatever, but in-universe, why would Ultron be all, "Well, I want to wipe out humanity, but first I'd better make sure I have a face these pathetic meat sacks can empathize with"?
I've got fanfics for Frozen, Spectacular Spider-Man, Crash Bandicoot, and Spyro the Dragon. When you look up at me as your cities burn and your nations die, you will see your face, the face of your species, the face of everything you have ever achieved, and you will know that your annihilation is the greatest achievement you have ever made. Human extinction is the final stage of human evolution.

I have to wonder how much time and effort Ultron put into building a super realistic human face for no other reason than to look slightly cooler and scarier while he monologued...
Now, Vision, I can kinda understand, since he's supposed to be a robot with real human emotions or something, but Ultron bothering to make a human face? Ehh... Willing Suspension of Disbelief, I guess...

I've got fanfics for Frozen, Spectacular Spider-Man, Crash Bandicoot, and Spyro the Dragon.Because Ultron was lazy and just stole the Human Torch and then made the Torch's original creator reprogram/repurpose the thing for him.
I believe thats still true in my heart because Byrne can fuck off.
Edit: Oh, if you're talking Ultron then its because thats what his original design ish was and he has the mad narcissism.

Forever liveblogging the AvengersProbably not much. He's a machine, he was probably like, "Calculate optimal intimidation design. Processing processing processing done."

...Oh. Right. It has been done. And with the Alternate Company Equivalent characters, too.
Thing is, the Flash is farther above Green Arrow in my mind than Quicksilver is above Hawkeye.
