Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Whedon teases that there are some additional Marvel characters in AOU
that haven't yet been seen in any of the trailers, posters, or promo stuff. He could just be talking about the cameos we know of already like Falcon and Peggy Carter, though.
We know Klaue has officially been confirmed, but I'm hoping for an appearance from T'Chaka or any of Black Panther's other entourage, since it looks like they'll be spending a significant amount of time in Wakanda.
Or maybe Bucky will get a brief cameo. He's kind of the big white elephant in the room as far as dangling plot threads go, and a whole year is kind of a long time for him to be Walking the Earth.
That train/bus scene with Quicksilver was in other trailers, but it looks very different here. He's definitely got the 'tude.
And did Cap just flip-throw a motorcycle?

Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectFrom last page:
The individual countries are doing this separately or Hollywood really, really likes to overhype the effectiveness of the UN. Hell, the US won't even sign a treaty through the UN when it's our own damn thing to begin with.

While he's probably referring to Heimdall, Loki, and the Falcon, I still don't think cameo from the Ao S cast (most likely Coulson) is entirely impossible. I know he's said we won't see him because of Continuity Lock-Out concerns, but it wouldn't be the first time I've seen a statement like that turn out to be a deflection.
The continuity lockout can probably be sidestepped by giving the 15 second version. They don't need to explain the entire first season-and-a-half of Ao S. Just Fury saying "Yes he was dead, so I went through a lot of trouble to make him not dead." would be sufficient.
It would be narratively terrible, however, and feel like a cop-out and an Ass Pull for anyone who didn't supplement the movies with the tv show. Which is why they're not doing it to preserve continuity.
I wouldn't put it past Coulson's team to appear in a stinger or something, however, but that would be lead-in to something they're likely never going to actually follow up on (not that that stopped them with "Hail To The King"), so maybe not.

Closest I can find are: United Nations Is a Superpower or All Nations Are Superpowers
@Dr: All his facial expressions during his screen time in the trailer just screamed 'douche'. I love it.
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectTo be fair, Americans in general do tend to overestimate just how much power the UN actually has. Something about a "nebulous world council" puts us on edge, which is kinda hilariously ironic, considering the US funds most of the UN's budget.

Half the audience would mishear it as "Iraq" and the nerd percentage would immediately start writing angry forum posts about how Qurac is a DC place location.
