Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

No, but they have to start with Dr. Strange pretty much the moment Cumberbatch has time. I think other than the Sherlock Christmas Special there was also some stage production on his schedule, but he should be done with both soon. I am not sure because I decided to avoid Setlock to get not spoiled.
Re the Kree discussion, Korath strikes me as looking very close to a black human, but there's something "off" about his appearance in the same way that there's something a bit "off" about how Phyla looks as compared to a white human.
So, I think Korath could be evidence of "human looking" Kree in the MCU.
On a related note, thinking about it, it would make sense if the various multicolored people of Xandar, the Human Aliens on Xandar, and the Kree were all the same species, even though the Kree think of themselves as different/superior.
What I suspect is more likely this time around is that the collateral damage is going to be spread out over a much greater area (instead of just New York, Metropolis, or Gotham, Ect.). We know at various points the film will take place in South Korea, South Africa, the fictional country the Maximoffs are from, America, and then possibly Wakanda (or near it). World governments will probably be less than forgiving if they blame the Avengers for basically having a giant slugfest that rampages across the world and results in deaths and property damage in multiple countries.

I have a feeling that this time around the Avengers will be directly responsible for some of the collateral damage in fighting against Ultron. Whereas almost all the damage in the first movie was implied to be caused by the Chitauri themselves, and the most harm the heroes could do was send some stray Chitauri and Leviathan corpses falling onto on some poor civilians or their houses. This time around the heroes might get sloppy or careless with their abilities, experience Power Incontinence, or get too caught up in winning the battle to look out for the people around them.
@comicwriter Sherlock fans have this habit go to the known shooting locations of the show (I am not talking about a handful, I am talking about a sizable number) and then tweet about everything which is going on. That's called "setlock". Makes it really difficult for the writers to keep anything under wraps, to a degree, that they even faked scenes for season 3.
If we assume that Tony is the one who activates Ultron for whatever reason, he is certainly partly responsible for everything what happens after, while with the Chitauri, Shield tampering around with the Tesseract was at best indirectly responsible for Loki staging the big attack. The damage was also, all things considered, very contained thanks to Steve's leadership qualities and the Hulk knowing what he should target. This time around it might be different. The Avengers might even make a big mistake on top of all this.
Also with the Avengers now being public figures it's possible that their arrival somewhere will be noticed and then the arrival of Ultron will be seen as a response to them turning up. Compare that to New York, where the unknown Avengers appeared after an alien race came out of nowhere and started attacking the city.
“And the Bunny nails it!” ~ Gabrael “If the UN can get through a day without everyone strangling everyone else so can we.” ~ CyranI dunno about you guys, I cannot WAIT to see Daredevil. Aside from Age of Ultron, it's probably my most anticipated MCU project of this year.
And unrelated, but ow, my feelings.

I'm with you on Ant Man. It's the wild card of the Marvel lineup right now, but I have faith in it. I think that one good trailer will turn a lot of people around, especially if they focus on the humour aspect.

I've shown the trailer to a couple people I know, and it got them interested, so I think they probably know what they're doing.
I think the trailer is better than the fans give him credit for. It is more designed to address outsiders than the ones which are interested either way, therefore it is mostly about explaining the basics. Not the most riveting of trailers, but it gets its point across: Mentor-Criminal-Daughter-Shrinking.
Not bad, although by this point I've heard the Not So Different speech and the "We are nothing alike!" response a million times (not that I'd be unwilling to use it myself). Still, it sounds like they are genuinely going for that angle this time, so I think it'll work.
Oh God! Natural light!
