Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

You could say about her comics outfit "Ah, yes, because SPANDEX, CAPE, AND HEAD PIECE is so wildly imaginative". The imagination and coolness come not from the sorts of articles of clothing chosen, like a jacket and dress (she is not wearing a skirt, but a dress, they are different), but from the specific choices in what sorts of those articles or how they are combined. Her outfit in Age of Ultron looks really good. The look of that red on black is really nice. Indeed, there's a nice red and black theme to it, with her lipstick matching the red of her jacket and her nail polish matching the black of the rest of her clothes, and the black of most of her clothes really makes the jacket stand out, while allowing us to find interesting parts of the rest of the outfit once we've looked closer. I also love her necklaces in the outfit.
But the Thor movies are awesome! Especially the first one!

Thats what stimulant abuse is for.
Besides Iron Man 2 is really the better choice of what to sleep through.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersPff. Back in my day we used to watch every episode of LOST back-to-back to find every interesting bit. We didn't have no sleep, or potty breaks, or the internet, or writing, or language, or communication, or higher brain functions, or brains, or eyes to watch it with, or anything else you young whippersnappers have, so don't be mouthing off about how you have it so rough with your superheroes and whatnot.
Now where in tarnation are those damned memory pills. I keep forgetting where I put them.
Sleep through Iron Man 3. It's a quick power nap, and you miss nothing of consequence.
My various fanfics. The obvious movie to sleep through is The Avengers. And through Age of Ultron. They're all so boring.

@zam: Hey, fashion is fun, and people messing it up by reducing an outfit like Scarlet Witch's into "jacket and skirt" is just missing the entire point and missing out on all the cool design of the outfit.
I should note, I do have problems with Quicksilver's outfit. That shirt he has is glorious, but those pants are the most boring pants they could've possibly chosen and the grey of the pants and the grey of the shirt do not go well together. They could've also done better with his hair.

Well, I can't speak for everyone, but I'm a little worried that the movie is going to go a little too far into Darker and Edgier territory for my taste, and that scene kind of feeds those worries. I'm not disagreeing with you, though, and I think they could do it right. I'm still excited for the movie regardless.
-grumbles-
Maybe we should make a separate thread for Ultron spoilers until the movie's out in all regions?

Oh God! Natural light! Its a complicated formula designed to make the most money and cut down on the damage from piracy.
And because Disney seeks to overthrow America by favoring foreign cabals.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersThe earlier release date in Germany is just because we change the programming one day earlier than the US does for some reason. Not sure why they start in the UK earlier after all, I got the impression that they wanted a parallel start in as many countries as possible. Thankfully. I am still angry that I had to wait two and a half months before I finally could watch Big Hero 6.

Boom problem solved.
