Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

I still think THE DREAD DORMMAMU should be voiced by Christopher Lee.
Keith David wouldn't be a bad choice though.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."I gotta say... Community has always seemed funny, and I actually use Yahoo for other services, but... Yahoo Screen? Who in their right mind gives a fuck?
I sang a Keith David song once for a thing. He needs to be in more stuff so I can use that voice more.

So I haven't read several pages. What's with all these "Black Spider-Man" rumors? Is there any actual substance to it? Wikipedia's turning up nothing. 'cause people on forums are talking about it and I'm just scratching my head as to where it came from.
I don't follow the news on these things, so did I just miss something?

Earlier in the week a rumor had it that they looking at a non-white Spider-Man because they want to differentiate it from the previous two franchises and try to get in on Hollywood's sudden interest in diversity after the successful minority shows this season.
Crossposting with the Batman v. Superman thread.
Mike Coulter talks a bit about Luke Cage and the tone of the other Netflix shows
.

Oh man, that word. "Gritty". I'm honestly a little nervous that these series won't be fun, especially given how hyped I was for AKA Jessica Jones based on how ludicris it sounded.
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies. It's based off a book chock full of things like rape and drug abuse so I don't think they were ever aiming for something Lighter and Softer.
You know, regarding the Spider-Man spoilers, I know that's Latino Review and thus most likely bull, but about this:
You know what? If the Sinister Six turned out to be Wilhem Dafoe, Topher Grace, Jamie Foxx, Paul Giamatti, Thomas Hayden Church and Alfred Molina (sorry Lizard, but someone had to stay out), and the story played it completely natural, not even bothering to explain how that's possible, just taking it for granted in a 'Don't be Anal About It, Just Enjoy It!' way, I'd watch the movie three hundred times and propose marriage to it.
I nominate Boomerang, Shocker, Lady Beetle, Overdrive, and Speed Demon for the MCU Sinister Six. Pleasepleasepleasepleaseplease.
I've got fanfics for Frozen, Spectacular Spider-Man, Crash Bandicoot, and Spyro the Dragon.![]()
That's only five, though. Maybe their leader can be the Hobgoblin?

No, no, no, see, that's part of their strategy. If there's only five of them, their opponents will always be on edge expecting their sixth member to show up. Could be anyone. Dormammu, Thanos, anyone!

THE DREAD DORMAMMU or bust.
