Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

The villain of Thor: Ragnarok will be Thor's helmet, angry that he was left alone and coerced by Loki's helmet to take revenge.
What makes it funny is that they marketed an official prop replica
despite the fact that Thor wears it for about three seconds in the first movie and then never again.
From what I gather the concept is that his helmet works like a crown, he can only wear when he becomes ruler of Asgard. In the first movie he briefly ascends to the throne but proves to be too immature, in the second movie he's rejecting the throne and leaving Odin to do his thing.
Now that Odin is dead, it's possible Thor will face a You Are in Command Now situation and be forced take up the helmet to lead Asgardian forces in Ragnarok.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."Look, even if it is just a rumor, what else would they call it? They're kind of out of options right now other than Ultimate.
And frankly they were already tempting fate by calling the last films "Amazing" and then failing to live up to it.
