Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Actually, I'd say the villains have been the weakest part of the MCU.

I'd love it if they did some sort of short film in conjunction with Infinity War, where everyone's walking around the set, completely in-character.

Oh God! Natural light!
x2 I dunno. Stane was pretty good- he may have been written poorly (I say "may" because I have no idea if he was or not) but Jeff Bridges was really entertaining in the role. Loki, despite his overexposure, was still fun in Thor and Thor 2. And the Red Skull was delightfully hammy.
Honestly, all of the villains are exactly what superhero villains should be. Two-dimensional, hammy and fun to watch.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."In retrospect I regret that movie Ock wasn't a bigger ham.
"ARACHNEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED!!"
Forever liveblogging the AvengersI just really hope Thanos at least is written well considering he's supposed to be THE villain of the MCU.
I've got fanfics for Frozen, Spectacular Spider-Man, Crash Bandicoot, and Spyro the Dragon.I'm not a big fan of Killian, feeling that he ultimately lacked development, personality or adequate reasoning or goals for what he did, more or less due to forgoing the halfway development he already had in favor of turning into more of a moustache twirler after The Reveal. Though "lacking essential development in the second half" was more of a general trait for Iron Man 3 than something bad about Killian, specifically.
Though, of course, the worst villain the MCU has so far is definitely Malekith. You just can't bring up "lacking development" without glancing in his direction...
Dunno if anyone's posted this yet. HISHE, Days of Future Past.

...What does that have to do with the MCU?
I think the only thing I like about HISHE is that they've made Batman into the biggest, most insecure, "HEY LOOK AT ME, GUYS" loser in the universe.
My various fanfics.I wonder if this will make it into Civil War.

"War without fire is like sausages without mustard." - Jean Juvénal des Ursins
I'm sure there will be a lot of files not being found.
I don't think I like this "404" guy's chances, though.
Oh God! Natural light! But will Cap be getting a "The Reason You Suck" Speech about how he is out of touch because he doesn't use NASCAR?

I think what we all really want is a movie with no villain or conflict, it's just all the MCU characters in a room together hanging out and exchanging witty banter. That's be the greatest thing ever, and I'm not even kidding.
...Kind of like I'm a Marvel... And I'm a DC, come to think of it.
