Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

That happened in Spider-Verse and he caused a nuclear apocalypse or something. Somehow.
Kate Bishop is Hawkeye. If they have the rights to Hawkeye then they probably have the rights to Hawkeye.

Yes. The Ultimate version is based upon/named after one of the current Young Avengers who is currently sharing a book with Clint Barton(they're both called Hawkeye).
The problem with just saying characters names are that stuff like this happens when people don't know about the history of that name.

Why Prodigy specifically? A mutant or something?
Hawkeye Hawkeye Hawkeye? Hawkeye!

Forever liveblogging the AvengersKate Bishop is Hawkeye on the Young Avengers. No derivative name, just...Hawkeye. Which I don't get.
Maybe it had something to do with Prodigy originally being a Spider-Man character.

My various fanfics.
x6 Miles girlfriend Kate is named after a hero in the normal universe who is sharing the Hawkeye codename with Clint. She's pretty
◊good with a bow.

Bucky can be Captain America when Steve is dead. Or when Steve is being the "Big Boss" of SHIELD. It would be awkward if he was Captain America while Steve was also Captain America.
This may be a dumb question, but anyone think Marvel/Sony will try a retake on Peter X Gwen with MCU!Spidey in an effort to retain one of the few redeeming elements of the Amazing movies? Or maybe to cash in on Spider-Gwen?
Or not at all and just go straight on to MJ?
I kinda want to hope they'll do Gwen again, but maybe it wouldn't be for the best?
Was US Agent the one who wore black instead of blue? I thought he was...not right, like crazy commie-puncher Cap.
My various fanfics.@Lord Of Lore: She's not named after her. Katie Bishop is the Ultimate Marvel version of Kate Bishop, Young Avenger and Hawkeye. Katie Bishop isn't Hawkeye, though. She's Hydra.

Does that mean Marvel could make a movie where Spider-Man gets 49.99999% of the screen time and Sony wouldn't see a dime?

I've got fanfics for Frozen, Spectacular Spider-Man, Crash Bandicoot, and Spyro the Dragon.

Why don't we just let Uncle Ben be Spider-Man for once? Lord knows he deserves it after years of being Marvel's only dead guy.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!
