Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

So neither of them are average. That still goes against what you said.
Also, Ultimate Miles isn't that much younger than Ultimate Peter (plus I think there was a Time Skip at some point).

I've got fanfics for Frozen, Spectacular Spider-Man, Crash Bandicoot, and Spyro the Dragon.Oh my god.
Now can you please stop complaining every time someone doesn't write a fucking college thesis on why they want Miles Morales in the MCU?

"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."@spash Well no. I mean if we're comparing their Ultimateverse incarnations then being the son of a Shield Agent has nothing on Peter being the son of the guy that helped create the Hulk, the Venom suit and the Super Soldier Formula.
Also Peter has an IQ of 250![]()

It'd be really cool to see Miles Morales on the big screen. It'd also be really cool if people didn't flip out at the mere thought that Marvel wouldn't use Miles — and I mention this because I've already seen people doing it, even on this very site.
Honestly, I'd like to see both of them working together. But then, of course, Miles wouldn't be headlining his own movie.
So on the whole I'd prefer Miles, but I'm not going to be terribly disappointed if we get Peter.
x6 You know, if people have the right to come onto this thread and say they want Miles to be Spider-Man in the MCU with no context or reasons for their opinion other than "he's not Peter," then I have the right to come onto this thread and express the opposite opinion. You're right, I can't force people to give me elaborate, articulate reasons for their opinion, but I can voice what I find wrong with those opinions on this thread because it's, you know, a discussion thread. For discussing things. Sorry if that annoys you. It annoys me when people say they want Miles to be Spider-Man in the movies just because they don't like Peter. I guess both of us will just have to deal with it, won't we?

I don't remember Richard Parker ever helping with Hulk and the Super Serum. I'm guessing that happened in one of the other Ultimate Universe comics besides the main Spidey ones? I never got around to reading those.
Anyways, I think maybe pointing out all the weird backstory stuff is a bad way to gauge how "average" a person is in the Marvel universe. Personality-wise, Peter and Miles both strike me as pretty average people.
Like I said a few pages back, if Marvel had unlimited time and resources, I'd be perfectly happy seeing both Miles AND Peter in the movies.

I've got fanfics for Frozen, Spectacular Spider-Man, Crash Bandicoot, and Spyro the Dragon.
And his love interest will be Silk, whose secret identity has been changed to Carlie Cooper.
One of the things I really like about Spidey's rogues gallery is that they have a unique general power level that - depending on how they're written / adapted - lets them fight against characters both more and less powerful than Spidey himself. So they can be fit into a ton of various places should the MCU want to do so.
I want Spider-Gwen because she's not Peter and because I like her costume.
Forever liveblogging the Avengers![]()
Well, points for creativity. I at least haven't heard half a zillion people parroting that opinion.
EDIT: Wait a minute, are you saying you want Spider-Gwen in the MCU, or, like, you want Spider-Gwen? *wiggles eyebrows suggestively*

I've got fanfics for Frozen, Spectacular Spider-Man, Crash Bandicoot, and Spyro the Dragon.I do feel it's kind of important to acknowledge Miles' history as a legacy hero.
In fact, perhaps the golden path would be to find a way to make Amazing 1 and 2 broad-strokes canon to the MCU (like how Avengers shows bits from Incredible Hulk, but never goes into detail), and explicitly state that that Spider-Man died. Now Miles is taking his place.
It would suck not to give Garfield!Spidey a proper send-off, but if you're going to go with Miles that's not a terrible way to do it.
Hey, out of pure curiosity, where in the comics does this
happen?
I want Howard the Duck because he's not Peter Parker and he's a duck!
I've got fanfics for Frozen, Spectacular Spider-Man, Crash Bandicoot, and Spyro the Dragon.
x4 'S from Civil War.
It occurs to me that doing Miles doesn't require Peter at all—only that Miles have powers around the time of the death of a superhero in battle and feel guilt that he's been squandering his potential and could've prevented it. From there, if he came up with the Spider-Man identity and outfit on his own, I'd be okay with that.

Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.

Peter Parker's parents were CIA agents personally recruited by Nick Fury.
And in the Ultimateverse Peter's dad helped created the Venom suit and hired by Nick Fury to help create the Super Soldier Formula whilst working with Hank Pym, Johnny and Susan's dad and Bruce Banner,
