Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Related to the announcement, I had been thinking during a previous conversation of who might be cast as the "Superior Foes" if they were lucky enough to get a film. Here's my thoughts:
- Boomerang- Joel Mc Hale
- Speed Demon- Aaron Paul
- Shocker- No idea- who looks like a B-part gangster from a 1940's movie?
- Beetle- Melissa Fumero or Rashida Jones (the latter more so if she takes over the late Victoria Hand's role in a Dark Avengers type thingy)
- Overdrive- Luke Youngblood or Donald Glover (although he'll hopefully be playing Spider-Man
)

I saw Joel McHale and my mind immediately went to "cast all the leads of Community in Superior Foes."

Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.Well Secret Wars 2015 is allegedly killing off everyone anyway...
I doubt it. I think it's more likely we will get something like the comics where Civil War itself is over but in the ensuing stories there's still the matter of the act being enforced, which would make certain heroes fugitives.
I think they could still debut them elsewhere and then make the movie their origin story. That's presumably what they're already doing with Black Panther and it was rumored they MIGHT do that with Captain Marvel as well.

I know it's not Marvel, but my mind immediately went to Aziz Ansari as Booster Gold.

Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies. The rumor mill has Logan Lerman as the front runner to be cast as Spidey.

....I don't know how I feel about this. On the one hand, I really loved Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man. On the other hand, I'm glad that the Amazing Spider-Man series is finally dead because TASM 2 had a terrible, incoherent plot and I hated that Gwen was killed off.
Also, fuck Richard Parker being alive in that deleted scene. Fuck that.
She-Hulk.

Booster Gold is from the future.
And the vast majority of science fiction tells me that the majority of the population of the future is white but a single other story said that far enough in the future and everyone would be a creamy mix of everything (indeed the plot was that WHITE PEOPLE WERE GOING EXTINCT AND HAD TO BE BRED IN ZOOS as well as other races so yeah...)
Forever liveblogging the AvengersBut yeah, also the gadgets. DJ Roomba as Skeets!
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.
I really should join the actual thread but, well, the show's ending, so it's probably a bit late for that.
Sure, I'll PM with you.

Grant Gustin's Flash basically is Peter Parker.
