Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

He's not that bad. Granted, Project: Insight was a bad idea, but he at least listened to Cap about it.
Oh God! Natural light! It's always hilarious to me how Ultimate Nick Fury is two completely different characters. Whenever Bendis writes him he is a bit of a prick at times but is ultimately well meaning and never is an asshole without some kind of understandable reason. Whenever Millar is allowed to be in charge he morphs into a fascist maniac.
"War without fire is like sausages without mustard." - Jean Juvénal des UrsinsMillar should never have been allowed to set the tone for the Ultimate universe.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersIt's pretty much the best possible way to do it too. Marvel doesn't need to give over part of their slate to focus on Spider-Man, and Sony actually has a chance to make some money with the property. Because let's be honest, Amazing Spider-Man 2 was trash, and there's no way in hell Sinister Six was going to work out.
If it still doesn't work, try this link
.
I'm just so tired of Spider Man. At least people will shut up about it now.
...Who am I kidding?

I like spider-man but I was perfectly happy with a spidermanless MCU.
Call me when Sony has the guts to adapt Maximum Clonage.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersI'm in favor of Carnage in the MCU if it means we get some variation of this (probably involving the Hulk): [1]

Exactly and yes!
Sadly the fact that it will be limited to a few hours means it can't truly capture the essence of that story. The terrible terrible essence.

Forever liveblogging the Avengers

In the comics, yes, it's effectively Soviet HYDRA and I get a sense this is the show's purpose with it as well.
