Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Marvel has something like five different ripoffs of the Green Lanterns in one way or another.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersCarrie Anne Moss from the Matrix
has joined the cast of Jessica Jones.
The only female Harper I'm seeing on the Marvel wiki is a Jill Harper who was involved in the Marvel Zombies series.
If Carrie-Anne Moss's character is indeed Jill Harper, it's probably a de facto canon foreigner, just that they opted to use the name of a (very) minor character who played a similar role in the comics.
There is also some Edith Harper, who was an waitress who died in some Spider Man story. But that is equality not relevant.
Saw this on my Facebook news feed, and couldn't help but laugh.
◊ I can't determine if it's an example of unfortunate automatic cropping or someone trying to be clever (especially since the image doesn't appear in the article).
Troper formerly known as Nohbody
Bocaj, you are going to Hell for that joke.
Where you will be well-treated and pampered because the Devil loves hilarious people.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Well then, looks like I'll be leaving this thread around then. The urge to look up spoilers is too strong to risk staying.

Oh God! Natural light!Because overseas markets are more and more important to a movie's success every year, and if it comes out there first, you can boast a more impressive box office total when it opens domestically because it's had time to make money before "officially" opening.
The first one came out first in the UK too.
More info about Ultron
: He apparently becomes sentient and violent after coming into contact with "an alien artifact".
Is it just me or does Tony have a shot like this
◊ in every movie? Like, from that angle and everything.

The Nova cops are space cops. The Captain Britain corps are multiverse cops. Totally different.
More seriously, the corps don't have much of a cop or military thing going on; leaving their own universe (except for otherworld) is meant to be a last resort desperate need sort of thing.
