Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Didn't IM 2 also have a scene like that(I think it was BW's introduction)where two good guys spar?
That's heresy. Happy is Kevin Feige.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.You fail to understand that all directors of the MCU are one. They think, they feel, they exist as one.
Resistance is futile, you will be assimilated.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."The nine realms are defined as the nine realms connected by Yggdrasil I assume.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."Originally I thought it was because they were in entirely separate realities that couldn't be physically reached but now I'm guessing it's just because they happen to sit in special spots on the world tree. Maybe each of the nine realms is in another galaxy and they make convenient travel points for getting to that galaxy or something.

Joss Whedon will direct Captain Marvel.
Starring Sarah Michelle Gellar as Carol Danvers.
Maybe each of the Nine Realms is a location of an ancient civilization important to the history of the universe (like the Elves), or a place of great importance (like Midgard) for some reason or another.
This would essentially end up being nine places that, by the Asgardians' point of view, are of paramount cosmic significance.
Wait, I thought the Nine Realms were all alternate dimensions. Like, Got G took place in Midgard's outer space. Am I wrong? Are all the nine realms floating around in Earth's outer space? Could people hypothetically fly to Asgard via spaceship without needing to use the rainbow bridge thingy?
I've got fanfics for Frozen, Spectacular Spider-Man, Crash Bandicoot, and Spyro the Dragon.Given the portal method of travel between worlds showcased in Thor The Dark World, they can't just be different locations in a single universe. The ability to fly into a rock on Asgard and pop out on Svartalfheim wouldn't make any sense.
Besides, the physics of Asgard from the sweeping views of it we've seen would not work as a planet.

Maybe she just took the bridge to Midgard, then hopped on an alien spaceship and flew to Knowhere?

That's probably true of a lot of villains. That's actually one of the interesting ideas that (the otherwise shitty story) Old Man Logan put forth. That if the world's supervillains could stop with the goofy, campy bullshit for 5 seconds they could actually use their powers in devastatingly pragmatic ways.
