Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Well the cat people who made her a cat person had turned into demons after being shoved into hell
Although maybe that has changed. I’m still way back when Tigra first grew her tail
Forever liveblogging the AvengersSo for fancasting and depictions, here's what I have for Blade villains:
- Deacon Frost (Robert Pattinson): One of the most repulsive people in the MCU. A debauched, depraved, Mengele-like figure (and an open and proud Nazi who happily worked with the Third Reich). Proudly racist, misogynistic, xenophobic, and an out-and-out Social Darwinist conducting all sorts of horrific experiments.
- Dracula (Tobin Bell): Has some archaic attitudes and is extremely brutal and ruthless, but is a fairly affable and personable guy, all things considered. A warrior at heart, respects strength, skill, determination, and cleverness and actually rather likes Blade and Elsa and is kind of impressed by them, and generally sees them as worthy adversaries to be treated with honor and dignity. Absolutely disgusted by Deacon Frost and hated him to the core, and outright commends Blade for offing him.
- Varnae (Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson): An animalistic brute who lost the last of his humanity millennia ago, and basically only knows violence and subjugation and cannot be reasoned or bargained with. More a force of nature than anything, he wants to enslave the world and make everyone either his thrall or food.
- Lilith (Christina Ricci): Seems kind of affable and charming at first, but is a completely inhuman abomination who wants to overrun existence with her spawn and stops being nice real fast if people (understandably) don't agree to worship her or be a host or food for whatever vile thing is percolating in her womb this time.

Interesting casting choice of Ricci. I believe she and Pattison have been in a movie together. Though I'm not quite sure if I want him to play a vampire again.
It's less "with great power comes great responsibility," and more "with great power comes a miserable life."
Well, you can't say they weren't accurate to the comics given what Peter's life is often like.
Going back to the X-Men, when we do see them put ons creen eventually, I would love for them not to do the "Wolverine and Cyclops rivalry" shtick for once. I'd rather see this dynamic for a change

Brothers in arms who have a grudging respect for one another.

As for Pattinson, it's a good second chance as a vampire and I think he'd be great playing an astoundingly evil villain with no redeeming value who just keeps topping themselves in heinousness.

Eh, Logan's shown respect for Scott as much as he's disliked him.
Even during their early days, there were plenty of moments where he admitted he respected Scott, and this was during the full blown Love Triangle with Jean.
One Strip! One Strip!Maybe it could happen.
They might want to somewhat differentiate themselves from the Foxmen, so putting Logan on the back burner could work.
One Strip! One Strip!I've longed stated (not sure if I've done so on the forums here), that I would adore if they started off with Laura (X-23), preferably with Dafne Keen back, rather than go straight to Logan. Maybe hold off on him for a bit.
You can only write so much in your forum signature. It's not fair that I want to write a piece of writing yet it will cut me off in the mid

Come to think of it, Blade is really is one of these characters everyone knows primarily through film, who just cannot support his own book.
