Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

There's also that infamous Hulk scene where he beat the shit out of Loki.
Which I honestly really enjoyed, as I remember thinking when I first saw Loki beginning to monologue: "Why doesn't Hulk just start attacking mid-speech? It would be totally awe-oh shit it's actually happening!"
"I'm Mr. Blue, woah-woah-ooh..."It is his main power and other heroes are supposed to find him intimidating, so it's not supposed to be an empty boast either.
Ridiculous strength has always been part of the character.

On that note, cannot believe that the first Avengers flick is already over 10 years old.
Man, I still remember how otherworldly the hype back then was. Something like that had NEVER been seen before.

That feels like an exaggeration, that certainly hasn't been the case with writers like Bill Mantlo, Peter David,Greg Pak or Al Ewing. I don't know which writers you are referring to.

It really made the scene and it's now one of the most iconic scenes from the film and gets referenced a lot.

WWH would need a good deal of set-up, both to jack Hulk's power up a notch and justify him becoming the omega dreaded of the superhero community.
Plus as said there's not that many superheroes in the MCU. The only high tier ones are Captain Marvel, Thor, and Doctor Strange.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."As far as Hulk goes I can't remember them using Hulk's catchphrases beyond 'smash'.
There's a particular moment when Abomination in calls him "Banner" in The Incredible Hulk when it seemed perfect set up for "Banner is Puny. Hulk is the strongest there is" as pre asskicking oneliner.
But Hulk is the strongest there is and the whole concept of Angrier = Stronger doesn't seem to be used.
I am probably one of the few people who prefers a Hulk who can speak coherently. Hulk Speak is just so utterly overused and annoying to me at this point.
The Hulk in EMH was one of my favorite versions of the character.

Hulk and Bruce working together. A Hulk who is a lot smarter than people assume and is able to drop some dope science facts. Still pretty angry and prone to hair temper but more grumpy than rage monster at his default state.
Forever liveblogging the Avengers
Now I'm suddenly picturing the various Hulk and Moon Knight personas bickering ans joking like Team Four Star's version of Piccolo, Kami and Nail.
Wait, didn't the Hulk's transformations originally happen during a full moon? Maybe fusing with Moon Knight is a lot more fitting.
He took out a Chitauri Leviathan with one punch.

He survived using the infinity gauntlet.
