Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

I feel like I've mentioned before how Kang could be an accidental allegory for COVID-19, given how when you seemingly have stopped it, a new variant takes its place that's even more dangerous, and requires more precaution against.
Kang being a servant to a more powerful Kang definitely fits in that department. And if He Who Remains is a stand-in for Saddam Hussein...
"I'm Mr. Blue, woah-woah-ooh..."There is a rumor that the High evolutionary is in Guardians of the Galaxy. That is an interesting villain.
I like looking at leaks or rumors because they get me excited and you just check off which one is real or false. I do prefer plot points and characters who are going to appear, not the whole plot before it airs.

Sincerely S Awatching.
...Yes! Let's do it! The more variants of him that keep coming, the more danger we're all in!

"I'm Mr. Blue, woah-woah-ooh..."... I'm still a bit curious about the Sadaam Hussein comparison.
With Kang, there's a couple of different appearances I'd like to see:
- As a mild-mannered bureaucrat-type calling himself Victor Timely - Either as a TVA Agent or else how he will be introduced in Quantumania. I'm basing this partly on the fact that Bill Murray has the look of that type of character and is also appearing in the movie.
- As Rama-Tut in something set in the past (maybe Eternals or Wenwu related). Or else, being name-dropped in Moon Knight.
- As the Scarlet Centurion in Guardians/Captain Marvel/something else "cosmic".

The reason I saw a bit of Hussein in He Who Remains specifically is that both of them were incredibly selfish, horrible people who nonetheless were important in keeping certain things in line. Once both of them died, things devolve into complete chaos, and people are left stuck in the aftermath of something they weren't fully prepared for.
In terms of those appearances, I think those would be dope to see. Kang could appear as all three of those things in various installments, and it would be a neat way of putting him in places where other heroes may learn about and/or encounter him. As of right now, only Loki and the Pym family are confirmed to be facing him, but those other two ideas could open a doorway for the Eternals, Shang-Chi, Moon Knight and Captain Marvel to fight him.

"I'm Mr. Blue, woah-woah-ooh..."Ya know I like how Kang is used whenever someone time travels.
In the current Venom run for instance, Eddie having become a God is capapable of time traveling by possessing any symbiote on the timeline, and winds up in the 602nd century where he meets Kang.
Who proceeds to tell him this wasn't their first meeting, he met Eddie previously thousands of years ago who told him to prepare for this moment.
It's always so trippy.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."It's not quite as bad a take as "Killmonger is an example of Nobody To Nightmare", but it's still up there.
Best to probably move on.
Wait, how is he not?
To quote the trope on his page:
"From a random kid from Oakland to one of the best soldiers in the US Navy SEAL's to temporary King of Wakanda, having bested T'Challa in combat."

He was born a prince to one of the most powerful and advanced nations on earth, graduated from USNA and MIT then he worked his way to a legendary reputation in an elite Spec Force group.
Even if he had never come to Wakanda, he wouldn't have had an ordinary life because he's not an ordinary person.
Huh I just now thought of a villain that could appear in Captain Marvel 2, the Vox
Introduced in the Death of the Inhumans book, they are a brand new creation of super soldiers of the Kree. A new race called the Super-Inhumans created to wipe out and kowtow the Inhumans on Earth.
What an edgy design
Perfectly fine for a design I guess but eyebrow raising from the Kree
