Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

To be fair, we did exactly that in Into the Spider-Verse. Not Peter Parker granted, but still a Spider-Man.

The hope is that that would introduce Psylocke, Meggan, Nightcrawler, and Shadowcat as well, and maybe Lockheed (little dude would certainly be marketable), as well as giving Black Knight his start. That way, we get a full Excalibur lineup that eventually ties in with the X-Men. As for casting, Sofia Black-D'Elia was born to play Kitty Pryde, that's all I know.
- Strange: So you guys police the Multiverse?
- Captain Britain: Yeah. Funny thing, there didn't used to be a multiverse. But then, all of a sudden, there was and always had been. But that's not even the weird part.
- Strange: No?
- Captain Britain: No. The weird part is that when the multiverse was born, like a billion rogue Lokis from nonexistent universes started spilling out of nowhere and spreading all across the multiverse. No one knows why. They just came with the multiverse.
- Strange: Sure, that's a thing that might as well happen. Okay, I'm starting to see the value in your organization.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Fun fact, the whole organization of alternates that got really, really big due to Spider-Verse started with Captain Britain in the Captain Britain Corps from the Alan Moore run.
Yes that Alan Moore. Captain Britain was actually like his original deconstruction story where he applied a lot of the story elements that he would later refine and then perfect in Miracleman, Swamp-Thing, and finally Watchmen.
Some impressive history there. This video goes into good detail over Alan Moore and Alan Davis' run.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."The more I think about it, the more I think Captain Britain/Excalibur has the potential to be one of the coolest MCU titles. I kind of envision it being done like a much more fantastic multiversal James Bond, which is probably why I fancast Judi Dench as Saturnyne - a characterization influenced by Dench's portrayal of M seems perfect. Liam Neeson gets my vote as Merlyn.
I do kinda take issue with Cavill portraying Brian though. Dev Patel always gets my vote. Rather than another classically built lantern-jawed white actor, I'd like to have Brian portrayed by another eminent up-and-coming British actor who reflects the diversity of the modern day UK.

Probably the Snap would act like a pause button. So say someone's having a fatal stroke and they get Snapped in the middle of it, the stroke just "finishes" after the Blip.
So, let's hang an anchor from the sun... also my TumblrIf someone way dying before the Snap they'd still be dying after it.
I suppose there's the weird metaphysics of when they'd show up in the explicitly real in the MCU afterlife (or did half the population spend 5 years in the afterlife only to be yanked back to the world of the living and forget the experience?), which I don't have a good answer for.

Unless Bruce did some to explicitly save them, they'd still be dying.
But Bruce might actually be able to save them Word of God is that he made sure every one lived and didn't day materialise in mid-air and fall to their death because they were flying during the snap.
(That said I don't consider Word Of God especially reliable especially for Endgame where everyone had different idea wtf was going on with old Steve)
The "actually Bruce made sure everyone was safe, don't worry about it" Word of God does seem like No Endor Holocaust.
So, let's hang an anchor from the sun... also my TumblrI’m fine with buying into this word of god because the logical alternative is way too needlessly grim
It’s the take that something in the vein of the Authority or Irredeemable would do with the same setup
No Endor holocaust is a thing for a reason

Forever liveblogging the AvengersNah, he's going to be right where we left him: Living it up in his secret moon base.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub. Can’t wait for the Fantastic Four movie where they take a trip to the red, white, and blue area of the Moon
Forever liveblogging the AvengersWe're never seeing Steve again because Chris Evans has retired from the role (excepting animation with a sound-alike like What If...? or other mutliversal recasting hijinks)
What I was referring to was whether old Steve had taken the long path back to meet Sam despite time travel creating alternative timelines, or whether he'd lived in an alternative timeline until it's Peggy died and then back to the main one but not to the pad for some reason. Apparently different directors and writers involved in Endgame have said different things.

I'll be honest, Josh Keaton did his best, but I didn't think he sounded like Chris Evans in the slightest. Most of the new actors for old characters did a great job, but both him and Ross Marquand weren't a perfect match imo.

Yeah. It's a tragedy that we couldn't have Peter Parker receive a pep talk from Literally Stan Lee.
