Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

So normal in their portrayal really.
The Illuminati in general are a bunch of incompetent rubes who could only barely hold back the Incursions while guys Doctor Doom were able to figure out actual solutions before they ever did.
Plus they pissed off the Hulk.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I generally go by:
- TV Show: 1 week, give it take (or specifically, spoilers for the previous episode become fair game after the next episode comes out).
- Movie: 1 month, give or take.
And to generally not cross post spoilers at all until about when people in the work’s own thread are comfortable talking about them without spoiler tags.
X9 On the Loki Fridge page, someone pointed out that He Who Remains is a case of the whole Humans Are Special despite our supposed inferiority taken to its logical conclusion in the darkest way possible. He Who Remains showed that humans, despite our weaknesses compared to other species, are capable of great things those species could never do. It's just that his achievement was chaining the entirety of spacetime, and no one, human, Asgardian, Kree, or Titan has free will, and his menace is so great, Thanos is a playground bully in comparison.

There's been a lot of talk about Young Avengers team ups in the MCU. Has something actually been announced for that and I just missed it?
Laying my cards on the table, I really dislike child superheroes as I can't turn off the part of my brain which says 'child endangerment' or 'child soldiers' but I really enjoy the MCU and they've earned a lot of trust from me...
Nothing's been announced, but a lot of Young Avengers related characters are being introduced lately and it doesn't seem to be coincidental.
Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks MarathonYeah, Young Avengers and Midnight Sons have had an awful lot of their people entering the MCU over the past few years and they're the two teams that have been rumored the most. The Dark Avengers and/or Thunderbolts may also have some clues indicating their future formation, but that is more open to speculation.

That's pretty much every teen hero group however.
Especially since the Avengers just exist to mouthed off to by everyone these days.
One Strip! One Strip!
I mean technically they're like five days old.
This might be an unpopular opinion, I have no love lost if they never show up again. Or at least, never show up with superpowers.
regulation pigeonI know some people here have been speculating that this new "arc" for the MCU might culminate in "Young Avengers vs. Dark Avengers", which could be a really interesting debate from a sociopolitical point of view.
On the one hand, having several superheroes under the direct thumb of the government after the Sokovia Accords proved just how useless and short-sighted Thunderbolt Ross and the UN were in stopping Thanos would definitely be points against the Dark Avengers. Also, using said Dark Avengers to do unsavory things on behalf of whoever's in charge might not go so well with the general public, especially after Project Insight.
On the other hand, you can't deny that trying to make a Super Team of superempowered kids with minimal oversight to try and save the world isn't exactly ideal either. Even the most skilled of the younger heroes so far have made some pretty severe screw-ups, and most people might not want to trust that.
So if Marvel goes this direction, this would be an interesting debate both in-universe and out.

"I'm Mr. Blue, woah-woah-ooh..."I really want Billy to show up.
Tommy I can take or leave, but I wanna see Tommy's whole wizard thing and his marriage with Teddy/Hulkling show up.
Come on give us the King of Space with his gay wizard husband consort Marvel.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Speed: forever the second fiddle, after thought, and lesser loved son.
WHO SHOULDN'T HAVE QUICKSILVER'S POWERS.
Forever liveblogging the Avengers

At least the Infinity Stones were actually spread out across the universe, and weren't initially all on Earth at the same time. In fact, before the Battle of New York happened, we only had two of them: Time and Space.
Wait a second...only Time and Space were on Earth before 2012. Hmm...maybe there's some kind of symbolism here that I'm not getting.
