Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

And Stick treats him like an idiot in Defenders because, y'know, he left his goddamn phone on him with location enabled while the Hand was after them.
Ya know it's a funny thought, imagine that it's time for the Tournament of Heaven, a major competition between the secret cities. Their Immortal Weapons compete for the position of when their city enters the material every 10 years. With each other city gets a succeeding amount of extra years to the loser being only allowed in the phsyical world every 50 years.
So Kun'Lun calls their Immortal Weapon, the guy they've been training for exactly this opportunity and..... some random woman shows up.
They would be so confused and pissed.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I very much don’t want the Illuminati to show up in the MCU
Small miracles that Tony won’t be part of it if it does
Forever liveblogging the AvengersI can't stop thinking about the ramifications of Danny giivng the Iron Fist to Colleen, it's a fascinating thought.
Like Danny's relationship with Kun'Lun is always tenuous because he's another IF shirking his duties by traveling the world.
But I can't imagine they'll be none too pleased that Danny gave their very valued power that is a cultural symbol to an outsider.
They would be extremely furious.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I mean, they got wiped out and shit stomped by the Hand because Danny wasn't there to guard the gates (and wow, why did they have him do that? It's like they wanted us to hate him), so I don't think there's much left they can say on that front.
One Strip! One Strip!I think the Netflix Iron Fist didn't have the budget to do a secret martial arts city so got rid of it A S A P

Not officially, but it's very omnipresent and has been backed up by certain leakers who got very specific stuff about NWH correct, so I'm guessing it's going to happen.
We don't know what happened to K'un-lun in Iron Fist. It's just... not there.
I figured they left it ambiguous contingent on their budget; if they ever got the budget to actually show it, then wow, turns out they hid the whole city when the Hand attacked and it's been there all along. If not, well, I guess it really was just destroyed.

You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Considering the guy behind the first Iron Fist season was the same genius who cut Medusa's hair so she can't use her powers I would say yes, the decision to make K'un-Lun pretty much gone was most definitely one that started as a budget concern and was worked backwards from there.

Right, I'm just saying the show was conveniently ambiguous enough about the city's fate that they could have K'un-lun reappear without it being a blatant retcon.
If they continued the show with a third season and Disney+ budget (unlikely though that may be) it'd be nice to see K'un-lun for real.
