Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

According to the costume designer's cast listing, it appears that Daredevil and Kingpin will appear in Echo.
Honestly, this isn't surprising at all since Echo first appeared in the comics as a Daredevil character.

The legend has returned.Secret War, singular, was a black ops mission recruiting superheroes to carry out an espionage mission in Latveria, which went south in a hurry and resulted in Nick Fury being deposed as Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. This served as a lead-in to Civil War, appointing the much more morally questionable Maria Hill to the position so that she could make the plot-requisite bad calls.
Secret Wars, plural, are a few different storylines that typically center around mushing superheroes and villains together into a battle space. The original event featured an omnipotent being called the Beyonder creating Battleworld, a place for capes to wage open war against each other in a fight for supremacy. IIRC, it culminated in Doom trying to seize the Beyonder's power for his own, because that's how Doom rolls.
There have been a number of sequel events to Secret Wars, plural. The most recent Secret Wars was the culmination of a conflict in which the entire Multiverse was annihilated by mashing universes into each other and destroying them. The Beyonder was now a race of Beyonders, and Doom successfully stole their power in order to create his own Battleworld which he ruled as God-Emperor.
This new Battleworld was a mashup of every major known universe in the Marvel multiverse plus countless new ones. Every realm had its own miniseries and was dedicated to a major comic event from Marvel's history. There was a world where the superhero civil war had never ended, a world for the Age of Apocalypse, the Ultimate universe, the Old Man Logan universe, etc. etc. all mashed into one large world with borders drawn between each realm, frequently conflicting with each other.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.
X6 Secret Wars 1984 was one Beyonder kidnapping the heroes and villains of Marvel, including Galactus, to Battleworld to play out the ultimate battle between good and evil. Doom takes the Beyonder's powers but loses them. Secret Wars 2015 was an entire race of Beyonders destroying the multiverse. Doom and fellow F4 villain Molecule Man kill the Beyonders, with Doom taking their omnipotent powers, but it's too late to save the multiverse. Doom then uses his newfound phenomenal cosmic power to create a new Batteworld, which is basically a Frankenstein-ed universe of the remains of the destroyed ones.
.."They wanted to have something that reflected the name of their toy line."
Shooter: Mattel said, "Can you do some kind of big event that gets a lot of publicity, so we have something to base our marketing on?"
De Falco: There were a lot of negotiations, and in the end we finally got Marvel Superheroes Secret Wars. Secret Wars was their idea. We were not thrilled with the name.

have a listen and have a link to my discord serverMeanwhile, in Secret Wars 2: Electric Boogaloo, the Beyonder arrives to Earth and all the heroes try to stop him. However, the Beyonder has a child-like mentality and prefers to just explore the world. At some point, he accidentally hires a prostitute, not knowing what that entitles to. Her pimp finds out about his powers of producing gold out of nowhere and befriends the Beyonder, and makes all of his sex workers to please him.

IDK, Sony might not allow it, and would probably rather steal him for their universe, since they already stole Vulture.

Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks MarathonThey explicitly did not steal him for their universe. We see him in the denouement to No Way Home. He's still in the MCU.

Which means I highly doubt J. Jonah Jameson would show up in any non-Sony Marvel productions.
"I'm Mr. Blue, woah-woah-ooh..."Considering, a huge statue has partially risen straight from the ocean after record natural disasters and then an even bigger alien that kind of looks like that statue arrives in the sky and tells someone he'll decide whether humanity was worth the death of a Celestial, news articles in the MCU must be... interesting to say the least.
I feel like Tiamut even getting as far through the earth's crust as he did should have destroyed the world.
And even if that didn't, now he's a granite heat conductor stretching deep into the planet. Should the oceans around him be boiling, or is he not much more conductive than the crust already was?
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Concerning the discussion of Doom reforming and becoming a great hero...
That did happen in his 2019 solo miniseries comic. An alternate universe version of Doom really did become a universe saving hero and built a great life for himself. He even showed 616 Doom how great everything is and that he could have that in his universe too.
Except he did it by letting go of his grudge with Reed Richards and becoming his best friend.
So 616 Doom murdered his counterpart and used the Ultimate Nullifier to destroy that entire universe.
Disgusted, but not surprised

I'm honestly not sure how noble Dr Doom could be written in the MCU, since the adaptational Nice Guy and the adaptational Jerkass are very common. (Not to mention that he himself varies between writer and writer)
