Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! I'm editing this OP and pinning it to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.

Right. That's the significance of the name. It's a tool. A newly forged artifact carrying his name to be used for a purpose. By not calling it a sword, he is defining that purpose.

Mega Man fanatic extraordinaire"Blade of Strange" is also not a catchy name.

Sincerely S Awatching. Is this site reliable at all?
"All you Fascists bound to lose."Not a rumor mill article from 2020…
... wow, a click-bait article from 2020 on a website I've never heard of.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them. Those rumors were circulating from the moment the mid-credits scene of Far From Home aired.
The cold never bothered me anywayevery time you believe a rumour from the rumour mill ____ dies
New theme music also a boxBasically if it's not from Deadline, the Hollywood Reporter, Variety, or directly from someone known to be attached to the production, you are generally safer to dismiss any report out of hand.
Occasionally something from less reliable source turns out to be right, sometimes because they did get lucky with a scoop and sometimes simply because they just made a lucky guess. However it's easy to remember the hits and not the dozens of other reports that turned out to be nothing.
Don't get my wrong, I'd love it if Daredevil showed up, I just haven't seen any especially compelling evidence pointing in that direction.
Charles Murphy tends to have a better reputation when it comes to the leaker/rumor mill, but that's all relative. So he's better than, like, literal dime-a-dozen randos on 4chan. And that's not to say there haven't been legit 4chan leaks, just...y'know, take it all with heaps of salt.
All that said though NWH having a Murdock cameo has been floating in some fashion for months now, and if anything's gonna make or break it for ya it's those pics John Campea tweeted weeks back.
About the Sword of Strange in the last page: a portal sword is just ridiculously cool-looking.
It's been 3000 years…Though as Stephen would say, it's a Scalpel. He just uses it to make incisions...in the fabric of space-time.
Performing surgery on the universe.

Disgusted, but not surprisedSo, I was watching this:
I like it, but I'm not here to talk about this entertaining 16 bit re-enactment of the final battle of Avengers Endgame.
I want to point out Thor's move during the fight, where he's bereft of both Mjolnir and Stormbreaker, and given the choice to call a weapon....chooses Stormbreaker. Now the latter is supposed to be more powerful, so there may have been a logic to it, but as it's been pointed out across a few threads, Stormbreaker's lack of a worthiness enchantment lets Thanos grab it with reflexes even faster than Drax (nothing goes above the Mad Titan's head either) and start using it to slowly impale the Son of Odin.
The thing is, even though it would have denied us the moment where Steve picked up the hammer, Thor should have called for Mjolnir. Because Thanos couldn't have done what he did if it had been the hammer.
So picture this: Thor called Mjolnir; Thanos tries to grab it and gets a Quicksilver styled surprise when it suddenly just drops to the ground and those few seconds lets Thor:
1) Calls for Stormbreaker and either put it in Thanos' face or deliberately aim it at Thanos;
2) Lightning bolt him (he can use the Thunder without either weapon. Maybe it wouldn't pack the same punch but it would still be a good move);
3) something else.
Just my thoughts on a soon to be four year old movie.
One Strip! One Strip! That assumes Thanos doesn't know about how Mjolnir works, and so wouldn't have changed his tactics if Thor had called it instead.
"It takes an idiot to do cool things, that's why it's cool" - Haruhara HarukoGoddamn these edits are great.
Now Ned trounces the Avengers and claims the Mind Stone so he can telepathically tell the entire universe about his fruit cobbler.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Ned Has had enough of being killed every time he tries to talk about when he and Betty first fell in love.
I missed the part where that's my problem.Y'know, joking aside, I wonder how Ned's going to feel about Betty being amongst those who decide to demonize Peter for his supposed role in killing Mysterio, at least per promotional material...

Trust no one.She doesn't seem to be doing a very good job. One of the first videos outright has her say Spider-man is her friend.
You can only write so much in your forum signature. It's not fair that I want to write a piece of writing yet it will cut me off in the midOh wait, she's actually supporting him? I thought people were saying she was anti-Spidey...
Trust no one.I’m more wondering how Liz would feel knowing her prom date is the guy who took down her dad.
It's been 3000 years…New poster with a slightly better look at the Green Goblin’s redesign.

Doesn't look very impressive tbh.
Certified: 48.0% West Asian, 6.5% South Asian, 15.8% North/West European, 15.7% English, 7.4% Balkan, 6.6% ScandinavianHe looks like he's ditching the mask. Which is a blessing and a curse, because while the mask is iconic to Willem Dafoe's Goblin, his natural face is much more intimidating.
It's been 3000 years…
It however does somewhat resemble a scalpel blade, albeit much much bigger.
That said, the name is more about Strange's intent for it — he refuses to think of it as a weapon.
